I knew we were winners going in because we had the best team that worked so well together. But to win in scoring too was above and beyond! Thanks so much everyone, especially Nan our fearless leader! And our cookbook guru's who had their hands full will all the recipes, and everyone for cooking their hearts out. I hope you had as much fun as I did!

I don't have a garden to share from, but I can get some pretty amazing pasta shapes from a local deli if anyone would like a small gift. (I'm a bit obsessed with pasta lol)

Rita, Satyne, your warm and generous thoughts are plenty for me, South Africa means HEAVY postage, its what put me off the Christmas Swaps, the postage costs more than the cards/calendars/etc! So I thank you, and I thank all of you, its so good to have spent these weeks with you, crossing thumbs that we work together on the next tour, or cross paths in other events .... PAC coming up

My garden is in transition now and about all I have left are green onions, herbs, and some peppers that survived the heat of the summer. I'm just starting the fall prep and planting with carrot seeds and other root veggies, to be followed by various greens and the cruciferous veggies (broccoli, etc.) Then it's pretty much continuous planting and harvesting until the end of June. I start my spring planting in December with peas, and the "summer" planting in February with tomatoes and peppers. By July and August everything is played out, and okra is about the only thing that grows well then. It's just as well, because I don't like being outside in the oppressive and humid heat of the Houston summer.
