The following recipes have not been accepted into the France cookbook. I will have to delete them from our own cookbook. If any of you want to replace them with more authentic French recipes, let me know, but before the deadline.

76 recipes accepted for France except the following:
Creamy Peanut Butter Fondue #445271 - graham crackers, marshmallows, peanut butter are North American
Balsamic-Soy Glaze #460742 - soy and balsamic are not French
Ham and Cheese Muffins #292015 - pastrami is not French
Ham and Cheese Muffins #292015 - biscuit mix is not French
Grandma's Chicken Rice Casserole #251556 - cheez whiz is not French
Easy Chicken Noodle Casserole #258464 - cream of mushroom is not French
French Onion Chicken #294154 - not authentic French
Spaghetti Florentine #333015 - spaghetti is not French
Pork Cordon Bleu #425238 - intro says German

Please note that even though some of these have been approved in previous tours, that this year we are looking for French recipes only. Cajun and Creole are not included this year.

What is funny about this, this is my cookbook from another ZWT where these recipes WERE included... Except for the Pork, I think... Which was a new addition by me. Heck even some of the reviews say they were made in another ZWT!

I believe the recipes may be accepted, if they were not accepted as part of another region. We went to France a few years ago, but they were also accepting Cajun and Creole recipes with the French recipes. Just having French/France recipes changes the dynamics a little bit.

I do understand that, but these are NOT Cajun and Creole recipes... I took those out of the cookbook... That is why I am so confused I guess...

I guess I will take them one by one...

On Ham and Cheese Muffins #292015 -- they say that pastrami is not french... Pastrami isn't even in the ingredient list... And Biscuit mix, while I understand it is not a "french" ingredient, it is a shortcut item...

On Easy Chicken Noodle Casserole #258464 -- While it does indeed use cream of mushroom soup, it is again a shortcut item...

On French Onion Chicken #294154 -- Says "not authentic French" but no other explanation onto why it wasn't accepted (and I have been through enough ZWT to know that not everything accepted is "authentic" into these regions...

    Hi, ladies!

iewe, maybe we should ask for clarification about the Ham and Cheese Muffins rejection, because it's listed twice with one of the two explanations not even pertaining to that recipe. I suspect that was a case of the wrong recipe number being typed (which could possibly mean that there's another rejected recipe on the list icon_sad.gif ).

As far as things being not authentic , I can only say that I've noticed from tour to tour that the hosts reject more of the less authentic recipes every year. Not sure if it's due to an effort to keep numbers manageable, or offer us better chances of hitting SI's without everyone on the tour making the same handful of super-authentic recipes, or because people were grousing about tour recipes not being authentic enough on past tours. It can't hurt to ask the hosts for clarification if you disagree with the eliminations, though.

I don't know what you're first tour was, but mine was ZWT2 -- they were accepting EVERYTHING back then. The first couple of tours were a big free-for-all, probably cuz none of us knew what we were doing yet. I know that when my first tour was finished, I had felt like I had just been in a medieval melee! rotfl.gif (came back for more the next year, though icon_rolleyes.gif icon_lol.gif )

All of FN's recipes for Spain/Portugal has been accepted.

These two are our cookbooks for the first round. It includes FN'd recipes, plus any recipes the cookbook depot decided was not appropiate for the France cookbook.

Sounds good - thanks, Dorit! Tonight I'll get our permanent thread set up for us and notify the hosts. Hopefully FN will have time to finish up with the different sizes so we can have links for all the banner stuff.

    Yay progress! icon_lol.gif

The peanut butter fondue was mine and I'd like to substitute Cheese Fondue Hash Browns
#396598 instead. I don't have to make a whole new cookbook do I? I don't have time right now, but have taken the fondue out of my current cookbook and put in the Fondue Hash Browns ---hope that works. icon_biggrin.gif

My current cookbook with the new recipe in it and the old one removed is French-ZWT-2012
