Luckily these days most of us have refrigerators and we are able to create many delicious “Ice Cold” dishes for the enjoyment of family and friends.

From basic Ice cubes to chilled salads, cold meats right through to ice creams and cheesecakes - not forgetting Iced tea and coffee either.

We all have special recipes that we use when the weather is so hot, recipes that are not only easy to prepared but easy to eat when many dont have a great appetite either.

    COOLING DRINKS

    Make Perfect Ice Tea
    Lime and Lemonade

South American Jugo - Fresh Fruit Drink
Gluehwein (Non-Alcoholic) - German Apple & Tea Punch
    So Simple Punch

    COLD SOUP

Mostly soup can be made well before. Its a great start to cold meal on a sweltering hot day.

    Mexican Cold Cucumber Cilantro soup
    Gazpacho
    Cold Cucumber Soup

    Lithuanian Cold Beetroot Soup
    Cold Summer Soup
    Cold Indian Split Pea Soup

    BEAUTIFUL SALAD

Salads are delicious. There are so many that you can serve in hot weather, from pasta, potato, cabbage, tomato and rice, not forgetting the humble lettuce either.

    Caesar Salad
    Perfect Pasta Salad:
    Greek Tomato Salad

    Potato Salad
Potato Salad With Chipotle Peppers(A Man's Salad)
    Cucumber and Garbanzo Bean Salad

    COLD MEATS

There are so many kinds of cold meat that you can choose from, from cold chicken, duck, turkey, beef, pork and ham.
The list is endless. Cold cooked barbecued, sausages, spare ribs, hamburgers

When its really hot. what are the favourite dishes you serve that tempt everyone to eat and enjoy? Do share your ideas and tips

I've been making pitchers of this, Iced Coffee Latte with half the milk and plain instead of chocolate.

I've also been making lots of smoothies, with frozen fruit instead of ice, I don't like diluting the mix. I've mainly been making them with either milk kefir or Coconut Milk Kefir , to get some more health benefit out of them.

The cold soups are a staple. I've been making the Lithuanian cold beet soup, this is a favorite from childhood. I've also been making Rugusis Pienas - Lithuanian Clabbered Milk , also something I've liked since childhood. I do make boiled potatoes to go with it. Having fresh herbs and greens from the garden really ups the flavor quotient!

I am experimenting with a cold spinach soup. Hopefully will have something to post.

Otherwise, I hate to say it but I've been eating out more. I just cannot face cooking much.
