This Challenge showcases the Kid-friendly Cooking Forum

    Start Date: 1 August 2012

End Date: 12 August 2012 deadline midnight Zaar Time

Challenge: Individual Challenge (3 players) - NON COOKING
Points: 5 points individual challenge participant
(Maximum 15 points per team awarded)

Our families and friends share our journey whilst eating our way around the world. This is a fun challenge that enables our kids to participate and join in the fun.

You can have your children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, younger brothers and sisters or even a borrowed child from a neighbour or friend to help you complete this part of the challenge.
(Your budding artist should be under 17 years of age and human )

Australia and New Zealand both have a large range of unique wildlife. The most widely known for Australia would be the kangaroo and koala and for New Zealand the Kiwi.

Use the internet to research either Australia or New Zealand and have your child make a selection. Create a picture of a native Australian or New Zealand animal, bird, spider, insect or reptiles.

Color with pencils, paints or crayons, or use *any* thing around your kitchen.
Scan a copy of your masterpiece or take a photo of it and post it to this thread.
(You will need to upload your photo or scanned artwork from your PC to an image hosting website first)

    XXXXXXXXXXXX
Platypus, Tasmanian Devil, Koala, Kangaroo, Emu, Sulphur-crested Cockatoo, Dingo, Rainbow Lorikeet, Frill neck lizard

Don't forget to tell us a little about your young artist and of the wildlife that they chose.

    XXXXXXXXXXXX
Kiwi, Tuatara, Kokako, Westland green Gecko, Kakapo,Yellowhead/mohua, Kauri snail, Archey's frog, Spooted black Grouper

For anyone not wishing to have kids draw their own picture.........
I've found some coloring printables on the net

*select your budding young artist (child under 17) and have them GO WILD with some artistic flair
*scan or photograph the artwork (the artist too if you wish)
*Tell us about the wildlife that your child selected - what country it's from, how it lives, what it eats, something interesting about it
*Post a reply to this thread and include your team name & team banner, details of your artist and your saved image of the artwork
    * 3 players per team can participate

My 4 year old grandson, Cole, and 2 year old grandson, Carter, are coming over later today. I know they'll enjoy learning about the wildlife in Australia and New Zealand and spending time drawing/coloring. Please sign me up for the challenge.

    Good Afternoon,

My grandchildren will be over this next week and I am hoping that both will participate in drawing pictures. My grandson, Chance, is 11 and my granddaughter, Cheyenne, is 8. Don't let the ages fool you, I'm a really young grandmother! icon_lol.gif Well, at least young at heart! icon_lol.gif

    Thanks,

    Nancy icon_smile.gif

wave.gif Hi Pan Nan and Nancy

Will be lovely to see all the entries icon_biggrin.gif

The kids challenge from last years tour was my favourite challenge.
Here's the link to last year's challenge
    http://www.food.com/bb/viewtopic.zsp?t=356763&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

The rules state 3 players per team, but you can 'lend'a child to another team member if you wish. Provided the entries are shown -one submitted by you and another submitted by a team mate. icon_wink.gif

I know some of the teams are struggling to find three children to help.

Of course though, we are happy to see as many kids have fun and always happy to see extra entries icon_biggrin.gif
