Hi. I am going to tailgate and need to know the easiest make ahead recipes or the ones that get the biggest raves. We haven't tailgated before and so we are not sure what to bring and how to keep food. No desserts. Can you suggest any?

Are you going to be grilling the food at your tailgate or will it be more of a picnic type of affair where the food is brought all prepared? How long will it be in the car before you are ready to serve? Are you looking for snacky/appetizer types of things or more substantial meal type foods?

Thanks for replying to my post. I am not sure how it will all play out because I am not in charge of it. I probably need a snacky/appetizer type thing that will be well received and easy to transport. The game is about 2 hours from my home and then needs to sit out. I wanted something that is a food.com member favorite. Any ideas or links would be helpful.

For tailgating parties, I like to make crockpot recipes as often as I can. Because most of my crockpots stay warm for hours after I prepare them and unplug the cooker for the trip to the party. But the dish stays warm for hours and still good to serve at the pre-game (or half-time) gatherings.
But I'm wondering, are you in search of specific recipes to make, or just ideas on how best to pepare tailgating foods?

Cool crockpot tip Northwest Gal, that might work for a dip I was looking at. I am indeed looking for recipes on food.com that people have made with success for a tailgate party. Anyone have any they particularly liked or had success with?

Cold Dishes
Greek Garbanzo Bean Salad
Sweet Pea Salad (my favorite)
Hot Dishes
Wing King's BBQ Buffalo Wings (it's hot, so adjust spices to suit your crowd)
