PaulaG wrote: Hello all. I am now back home in El Paso. We have had some kind of adventure. I left home on the 31st. We had Grandma's weekend in Atlanta the 31st through the 4th. Eric arrived on the 4th and the whole crew packed up and drove in AL.
After a couple of days in AL and a little house hunting we returned to GA. Only to turn around and drive back to TN on the 11th and 12th for house hunting. On the 13th DH, DD, SIL and GD1 and 2 packed up and went to Lake Lure, NC. NC is a beautiful place. Lake Lure is in the mountains and the weather was in the low 80's.
Father's Day found us once again driving to TN to look at a couple of more houses. Well on the 18th we made an offer on a house and on the 19th the negotations were done and we signed a contract. We will be closing on the house in TN on July 30.
The prospect of 2 houses is a little frightening. One paid for the other not. So anybody want to send prayers or positive thoughts are way please do so. We would really like to sell this house soon.
I have missed you guys and look forward to doing some cooking in the next several weeks. I have got to clean out the freezer!
PHEW!!! Congratulations on your new home & yep, sending prayers that you sell the other soon!

Thank you Mia. It good to be home with my things for awhile. Staying with others can be taxing and no matter how much you love them it is hard to have your own space. I do so appreciate the prayers.

Congratulations Paula on your new home!!! My prayers are with you on selling your home as I'm sure others are too. We have a place in Boise, Id (that's where my mom lives in a nursing home and my 2 daughters and grandkids are) and then we have a place in California (where DH's 95 year old dad lives)....I love CA and being able to be close to the ocean and having fresh produce almost all the time but cleaning and keeping two places is hard. Any way welcome back!!!

Paula, so nice to have you home!! Yehaw! That's wonderful, and congratulations on the new home! I hope you can send photos when you get a chance! Hopefully, your house will sell fast, as I'm sure your area probably moves houses pretty quickly. Man, you and DH were one traveling buddies weren't you? I understand how good it must of been for you to come home....even to be in your own bed with your cumphy slippers

I made these refreshing salads, there were so tasty, I could (and almost DID) eat them all myself.

Good morning all. A very busy time for everyone! Let me add to Andi's well wishes to stay cool. We are still in our drought and the temps are soaring.

We had a wonderful dinner this afternoon. Leftover meatloaf served on a bed of leftover brown and wild rice then topped off with a delicious mushroom gravy. To complete the meal some fresh summer squash.
