I'm not a Yooper...but live in the Northeast of WI right on the boarder of the UP. If we haven't moved by next year I would love to get together with anyone coming to the area!!! We are near Iron Mt., MI
OMG! I've flown into Iron Mt. on my way to the UP a couple of times. I'm going to Marquette, MI next June for a FinnFest. I will be in touch as I'd love to adjust my travel to include meeting you in person.
For our Aussie/Kiwi friends, Marquette, MI is about 1400 miles from where I live in Maine.
Don't forget this Michigander here in Flint, MI
Mom2Rose -- I won't! How far are you from Marquette? Or Iron Mountain?

Group 7 Chocolate Crackles
Sorry -- just a day late ! Have enjoyed and reviewed Noo's " Potato Bake With Garlic and Rosemary".
We were threatened with tornados, so I prepared in the early afternoon, in case we lost power. Used a trick I learned a long time ago, I put the potato slices in a bowl with a bottle of beer (doesn't matter what kind) for about 1/2 hour before assembling the casserole. I don't know the chemical reaction, but anytime I do tis, the potatoes are so tasty and creamy -- I just do it ! Used fresh rosemary from the patio and shredded Bistro Mexican cheese. Kept it warm in my oven serving drawer for akmost 1 hour (no power loss !) - and the results were creamy and wonderful !! Have lots of leftover !!!

Good morning Nurse Janey. I read your post about the beer and potatoes to my DH and he asked me to make this recipe! He loves scalloped potatoes and is intrigued by soaking the slices in beer. He also loves shredded Bistro Mexican cheese. If you've followed my posts about DH he doesn't like food.com recipes so this is quite remarkable coming from him! Can you add your soaking technique to your review? Otherwise I will try it and add it to my review when I get around to making it.
Thank you!

Bombay Black-Eyed Peas #217983.
Couldn't source canned black-eyed peas but bought dried and cooked them in the pressure cooker. THis was a great recipe and very easy to put together
