    Just wanted to check and see if this solution would work on the old type
    enamel tubs.

    Sometimes you can find the answer to your question in the reviews, otherwise, I would just try it and see. One lady used it on ceramic tiles, with no ill effect, so if it didn't hurt ceramic, it won't hurt enamel. How effective it would be, also depends on the condition of your enamel surface.
