Just a quick note to let everyone know I made it home with a really nice trip and no trouble for a change. But when I got back found that Dh had forgotten to back the charger for the computer and it took us THREE days to find one that fit. It's finally working though and now I'm trying to catch up on all the post and info I've been missing out on.

I'll catch up more later, hope everyone is doing well

Thanks Laury, now it's time to start getting ready for the holidays. DD will be coming over to spend a couple of weeks with us and really looking forward to that.

I've managed to loose 3# of the 6# I gained on vacation so hope I can continue to get rid of them with this season on us. I did bring back a good pair of walking shoes in the hope I can get out and move more.

Bonnie, I, too am glad you are home. Way to go on losing three pounds, I think I found them though, I really wish you would pass them on to someone that needs them. icon_smile.gif Yes, I guess we are all getting ready for the holidays, although I have no idea what we are doing, but I bet it will involve cooking. I have yet to figure out why since our parents are now gone that everyone still expects to be fed at my house. LOL, I do wish someone else would do the honors.

Hope Tasb is OK and her son's test results were good. I keep all you lovely ladies in my prayers and consider you all friends.

Morning all, boy Jac do I know what you mean about finding pounds icon_confused.gif I FOUND 6 of them while home on vacation, while DH LOST over 6 icon_twisted.gif
It is strange that even when so many are gone when the holidays come we seem to run to the kitchen - but then it's so much a part of the holidays. It just wouldn't be Christmas without a goodie tray in case someone drops in and I have to say, I love every minute of it. There's just something about special foods and family that screams love and caring in my book.

I'm already digging through all my favorite recipes, filtering out which ones I can get the supplies for, and driving DH crazy making him take me to differant stores searching out all those hard to find items around here. (NO WAY am I driving myself in this crazy traffic) But I know it'll be so very special for both of us when we sit out all our little victories - and friends say "gosh, this so reminds me of home and the Holidays" icon_wink.gif

Jac. I hope that you don't end up having to do a lot of the cooking. If your sisters want to go to your house for Christmas, make sure the ones whose shoulders don't hurt have to do a lot of the cooking.

Bonnie, I hope that you can find many of the foods you need to make something special for the holidays.

There isn't a lot of new things going on here. We spend a lot of time watching Christmas movies.

Sorry for not checking in, bee busy in the kitchen. I scored a case of pears and been busy using those up. I have been checking in daily, but on my phone which can be a hassle to type on. My son's test came back perfect, but he is using what is going on as an excuse not to do school work. So he has lost electronic privlages until he has caught up. His bully is out of his school now, but registered into mine, I am treating him as I do all kids, with kindness, I am sure he thinks I dont know about his bullying.

At work I have been busy too, our Christmas Concert is on Tuesday and I have been baking my heart out. Seems like that is all I do these days. Last week I baked all week because the company I order food from sent me 1 kg bananas instead of 1 case. Then baking and freezing for this concert. Now gotta do some for home too. Just need to find out what kind of cookies my kids are doing at school, so I dont make them here.

Still gotta figure out what I want for Christmas. I am really wanting a Keurig, even have my rebuttal ready for why the most expensive one. If you subtract the cost of the sample packs, k-cup and filter the machine is cheaper than the cheaper ones, plus the 5 cup sizes instead of 2. Will have to see what hubby wants first. I know he is looking at getting a hunting rifle soon.

tasb - sounds like you are busy as usual, I'm working on selecting cookies and things too but have to filter mine through what is available in the markets here.

Went out today with DH shopping which he cut short as he had enough (he's a REALLY bad shopper) but did get some decorations and lights for the balcony and now it looks a lot more like Christmas.

I've got to get started on my cookies and candies, but am so limited by supplies it's hard. My DD arrives here on the the 17th to spend 2 weeks with us and I can't wait.

glad your son is OK, but isn't it something when they are so good at coming up with excuses on why they can't work - but no problem with the fun stuff. My kids were the same way and now I see it with my grandkids. The good thing though is they seem to grow out of it.

Laury, I LOVE all the holiday movies; guess you can tell I'm a real Christmas personality here - wish we had more of them, but they seem to be limited, though everyone is truly into the spirit and lovely decorations and concerts going on.

Jac - sure hope you are doing better, I worry about you.

tasb, I am so happy that your son's not diabetic. It's good that you are already working on the not doing homework issue. Keep baking for the concert and for your home.

Bonnie G, one of the stations schedules about 5 Christmas movies a day and there are other stations that have the movies also. We record them when they are on the air. We also have bought some which were shown earlier years but aren't being shown this year.

I am feeling kind of discouraged because it hurts to breath. As far as I know, I can't stop breathing.

Jacqueline, I hope your shoulder stops hurting.

Tasb, I have no idea where you find the time and the energy to do all you do. I don't know your age but I am 57 and know I could not do what all you do, but then I hope you never weighed over 300 lbs, which I don't now but I did start out on this journey at 303 lbs. I was very limited in what I could do and with these last pounds I have gained, I can tell the difference.

Bonnie, I love Christmas, the movies, the decorations, the music, you name it and I love it. I use to like the baking before I became diabetic, now not so much because if it is my house I am going to eat it.

Tasb, also glad your son's tests were fine, and I remember making excuses for homework.

Laury so sorry you are stil having such bad problems breathing.

Well, a note from me, about me. Went to the doctor today, the orthopedic and he said if PT was going to help it would have done so by now. So I am to have surgery on Jan. 11th. It won't get here soon enough for me.

Jac, January 11 is only a month away. I know that it is very difficult but you can do it.

tasb and Bonnie G, how's it going?

I am still feeling arthritis in the chest wall. I decided to take a day off exercise since Tom won't be around today. I have asked him to be home around 3. I hope that nobody does anything to cause an alarm while he's away. I do know what to do if an alarm goes off.

Laury with the pain my shoulder is causing me right now, Jan. 11th seems an eternity away. Although, I have been talking to people and reading about the surgery and if it is my rotator cuff and it has to be repaired, which he won't know until he gets in there, I am worried about what I can do for myself afterwards.

I guess I will fix a pot of chili and a pot of vegetable soup and freeze it in one portion sizes so I can heat and eat. Gosh, I haven't had anything major done since I have lived by myself and it is scarey.

Laury hope you are feeling much better and the chest wall pain has eased up.

Bonnie and Tasb, hope your all's preparations for the Christmas holiday is going well. Oh, tonight is the concert, hope Tasb got her cookies and goodies all baked up.
