I managed to exercise Saturday through Tuesday and was delighted to be done with it for the week. Wednesday and Thursday I went to the dentist. They were quick appointments with my sister getting me home both days. It is still stressful for my body going two days in a row. Today I woke up in pain and lots of lung conjestion. I have a doctor appointment on Wednesday and we will see what she thinks. Tomorrow I may not exercise since lung conjestion is not something I want to cope with for long. My immune system is turned way down so my getting ill is a problem. Tom woke up ill, also.
Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease. My body is fighting something inside itself. When we let my immune system stay active, I get worse. This is not a fun time.

Laury, I sometimes feel we just reply to each other.
I have not had a good weekend, actually started on Friday morning but I have had some severe stomach problems and things have not gone well for me.
Yesterday we went to the Hallmark premiere, which my sisters and I do every year.
I am not sure if I have told you all this yet but I have decided to redo my carport and to add a 3 season porch to it. I am excited about this but would love to get it done before long.
Still no change in weight but I know it will happen some day.

It will happen, Jac. I agree that we seem to be some of the only ones responding. Sometimes Joy does post.

I lurk from time to time - I have to say, both of you are inspirations on how matter of factly you deal with numerous issues. I have different issues - osteoarthritis that has required surgery, stenosis, high BP, etc. - and of course there are different considerations, but it does help to see that a steady approach can help mitigate or improve the situation.
Have a great Sunday!

Glad to know you lurk from time to time, duonyte. I have osteoarthritis really bad and have had surgery on my knee, the doctor said my osteoarthritis was terrible and for my age it was the worse he had seen. I just try to work through the pain. I had diabetes and high blood pressure but they both are normal now and was even able to go off my medications, including my insulin.
Let me tell you all this thing that I found yesterday at Hallmark, glad that we rarely go there because I'd buy them every time I saw them. It is by Russell Stover and is called S'mores. I have to admit I don't often eat candy because I end up dumping on it, but this was the best thing I have had in my mouth in years.
Well, we have started a new week and hopefully I will lose a pound this week. Going to try to get better at eating and exercising again, been kind of lacking since I have been working on the basement.
Have a good week and I will be back to check in on you all.
BTW, Joy I didn't mean to leave you out so glad you are here with us.

Duonyte, I am pleased that you lurk. If my going through my health issues and exercising encourages you in some way, I have done something that makes me happy. Today I did my 3'rd day of exercising and I am pleased I did. I just have to do it tomorrow. I am attempting to get all my exercising done before my doctor's appointment on Wednesday.

Jackie, I had surgery on the toes of both feet for arthritis, and meniscus tear in the knee - the doc who did the knee said that the cartilge should look smooth, but mine looks like the surface of the moon! Pitted and ugly. More problems to come, alas.

Laury, you always do so well under the circumstances, you are a ver positive person and we are all entitled to grumble about it too, as you and Jac have been through so much.
duonyte good to see that you are about, its always refreshing to see someone new - this used to be such a chatty forum.
I had my hip worked on by the physio last friday and that afternoon my back went into a spasm….. sigh. I could hardly move… getting up and down was so hard, though its lots better now.

I have been avoiding this forum, I haven't been exercising, I have been making excuses, and now I have gain back all the weight I lost last year. I think part of what I am going through is stress related.
After 3 years I finally had it, I was ready to not only give up my job, but also my career. I was that stressed, and all because my boss. For 3 years we have been getting yelled at, for stupid things. I wasn't the only staff member that had it, most of us were thinking of looking or actively looking for new work. I wrote a letter to our higher ups and that started a snow-ball, in total 9 letters were handed in (we have a total of 16 staff) and my boss was fired.
I think I am ready to return to my job at the end of summer. I will give it one more year, and if things aren't better I am going to leave. No more working under those conditions. It wasn't healthy. I can tell I am de-stressing because my need for caffeine is slowly decreasing. I didn't have my second up until 2 pm today, and I basically had it because I didn't want it to go to waste. I hope to be down to 1 cup soon.
I went out for a walk today too, in 37+C heat, I dragged my son out for a walk. I have put off walking with excuses, and the fact we both been suffering, my sinus's have been inflamed for awhile now, I thought I had another infection, and my son's asthma hasn't been all that good. Probably from all the smoke from distant forest fires we had the other week. It was so hot that there were no bugs at all.
We went out for 50 minutes, got in a 4.5 km walk, it was awesome. My girls want to walk too, so I guess with them in tow, we will have to go out in the morning, bug spray on, as it will be cooler, it will be a slower pace and only 30 minutes. I also got the pool set up today, I tried to do it last week but put a small hole in it, hubby asked how big it was and I said small enough for a blade of grass. I couldn't find it as the felt pen I used to mark it washed away. So I just set it up, we will see how things go.

tasb - I can really relate to things being stress related..so glad that you have popped back in, I need some backup to make me 'do' things, being riddles with osteo arthritis does not help.
It sounds like you have had a really bad time - specially with work - hugs my friend and good to see you back.
Dont try and let it get you down or otherwise they have won. (work I mean)
Great to hear that you are out walking, but do watch that hot weather

Hi! tasb, when you are ready to lose weight, you will do it. Try not to feel upset that temporarily you stopped. You are starting to exercise again. That is what you need to forus on. Some people say each day we can make a choice to focus on what we have or what we don't have. I think it's more like every minute we can choose.
I finished exercising for the week. Tomorrow we both, my husband and myself, go to the doctor. I hope she has some more answers for lots of my questions.

Thanks for your unerstanding and kind words. I kept my promise to my kids and we went out for a walk this morning. We were out for 27 minutes, it was nice, not too hot, no bugs, me and DS had music playing on our phones.

tsab, glad to see you are back. I have not been doing too much lately, I haven't even cut my grass in over five weeks and it is just now getting where it needs it. Lack of rain in my neck of the woods has been bad this summer. I am so thankful that I planted a "pot" garden rather than a big garden. Yeah, the pot means it is all in pots and I can water it with the hose.
I have gotten so use to having help here at the house that I think I am getting lazy, going to try to clean some on the house this evening, but that may or may not happen.
Eating is going OK but I need to find something I can do exercise wise that is for strength. Aerobics I can handle but I get tired of walking and it is too hot, been up around 100 or more for the last few weeks, too.
Wish we could get more people to join in our group. Any ideas anyone?

Jac you could always go back over the old thread a bit and find out who used to be here and send them a z mail inviting them to come back and join in as we need the company - what do you think?

I have thought of doing that but I understand there is another group in CC maybe? I am afraid of stepping on toes.
