Hi Rhonda! IT's great meeting a new friend! I am so sorry to hear about your husband, though.
It sounds as though you are really have a tough go of it. I am so sorry you have to go through all of that.
As far as your dear husband, has the doctor given him a sound, nutritional menu to follow? As you might realize, when you are getting diabetic ulcers on your feet, he has to make sure his diabetic meds are correct, as well as his food intake.
As far as meat and potatoes, lean protein along with some low-glycemic carbohydrates, and some veggies that he might like.
Can you tell me what you all eat now, what meds he is on, and what he likes to eat. As you might know, white potatoes and white rice, and white breads are one of the worst things diabetics can eat. Whole grains, sweet potatoes, and fresh greens are so much better.
Please let us know so we can help you.
