my question is for any chef that could possibly answer my question, that deals with Italian cooking. For a while now my father has spoke to me about a recipe his grandmother would make... I have never even heard of. When he describes the dish (which he doens't know how to make).. he says that it contained Italian sausage, cheese he thinks riccotta and parmesan, and these large dumplings. The closet I have come to finding anything like it was this:
GNOCCHI SOLENTINA: Home made ricotta dumplings served with mozzarella cheese, italian sausage & parmesan cheese.
This is not what he had called it( I cant pronounce it or spell it right but his grandmother called it chalindalese... I think). So my question is is have you ever heard of this before and if so could I please get a recipe on how to make this.

You probably would have better luck posting this in the Recipe Requests or the Italian forums.
