I am a relatively new diabetic too. Had a very good nutritionist that helped me at first. Found the carb counting methold easy. I have lost quite a bit of weight. My sugars are in the normal range. I stumbled on this site and said "thats for me". I am having a lot of fun looking around. Hopefully I will find some recipes that are easy, but not plain. Nice to be here. katz.

Hi katz and welcome to Food.com and to the forum! I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes about three years ago and with help from my doc and my fabulous nutritionist have also lost over 50 pounds and my numbers have been really good. This is a terrific site and the forum here has wonderful hosts (I'm a host in two other forums.... Critter Cafe and Seasonal Topic Of The Month- abbreviated as "TOTM"). There are some great recipes here. Check out the forums you think might interest you. In addition to food related forums there are others, like the Critter Cafe, for animal lovers, a Craft Forum, Food Photos etc. Have fun and stop by often!

LOL I figured from your kitty icon that you might be employed by a cat (you know what they say.... dogs have owners...cats have staff! rotfl.gif) . here is a link to the Crtter Cafe: http://www.food.com/bb/viewforum.zsp?f=73

Personally I am employed by two kitties! We have cat folks, dog folks, some horse people (me among them although I do not own one) and Andi who has a whole farm full of critters!
