Here, I would like to add that one should start by going through your freezer, refrigerator, and pantry and write down the food items you want to use up. These could be items that are almost ready to expire, items that are starting to get freezer burn, or items that have just been taking up space for too long and need to be used up.

I do that weekly with my pantry, fridge and freezer ... Most would be amazed at what can be made! You could probably make 10 or more meals just with what is on hand ...
Talk about money saving. Last week, I spent 17.64 in total groceries (not including milk, cheese, eggs, 2 jugs of soda, and cat food).
But milk, cheese and eggs will last a good 2 weeks. The rest was fresh veggies and misc.
So, yes, I got 7 meals and I can do another 4 without a single cent!!
Yes, all from what I have on hand.
