I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but just to ease my mind icon_smile.gif One of the ingredients I used in my soup recipe is curry -- which is a spice blend that uses cumin in it. That *does* qualify as using cumin, correct icon_question.gif

You're talking about your soup, right? "Curry" probably wouldn't qualify totally unless you listed your own curry powder blend and their quantities individually in the recipe BUT you have covered other contest ingredients enough that you don't need to worry about it. Your soup has the SP potatoes, corn, carrots, chicken broth and bacon, so no worries.

Another misplaced question for you Kristine. I love seeing so many new faces.

I received an email saying that my recipe was published to food.com but it didn't say that it had been submitted to the contest. I didn't see it on the list of contest submissions. Could you tell me if it was submitted to the contest? It's Roasted Red Pepper & Tomato Soup With Spinach Gnocchi.

It takes up to 24 hours for all the new recipes published each day to show up on the contest main page. But all the contest detail is showing at the top of your recipe so no worries, it's submitted.

Well, honestly, the brand of curry powder I use has a high cumin content, and that's the reason why I stress to NOT use red curry, and why I itemized what the curry I use contains, to compare to others in the store. Three ingredients that make my soup unique in flavor are golden curry, turnips, and parsnips. Yes, it has bacon, but it's not the star of the show in other words. Thanks for your input. I'm glad to hear you confirm that the recipe meets the contest criteria! icon_biggrin.gif

I need to submit a photo but I am waiting to see if my recipe was accepted. Will it be accepted in time for me to submit the photo by the contest deadline?

Hey there, "Mama's Cookin" I just looked at your soup recipe and I'm going to try it myself when I get back from out of state. Hope I remember to pick up the San Marzano tomatoes while I'm in Tennessee, cuz they're nowhere to be found in our hometown 'wide-spot-in-the-road!' Have never made gnocchi but I'll give it a whirl - Looks yummy icon_smile.gif

Once you get an email alert that your recipe published, click the link in that message to view the recipe and then go and add your photo.

The recipe is live -- just hasn't updated to show on that main recipe page. That takes 24 hours.

Thanks! icon_biggrin.gif I hope you like it. I made it for quite a few people now and they are either being really nice it they really liked the soup!

...speaking of which, I've had a few people tell me that they have tried to review my recipe and it's not showing up. One person said they tried 3 times in the last 2 days and none are showing up.

I'm cleaning out more contest reviews now. One thing I can tell ya is that I AM rejecting any reviews that give 5 stars and say something like: Looks Great! or anything else that makes it obvious that they didn't make it. We can accept 5 stars with a review that shows they tried it or no stars and just a comment that they are going to make it.

That doesn't sound like your situation, but just an fyi to all. Anyway hopefully they'll all be posted soon!

I understand. I actually made 3 batches of it and took it to my daughters school where she teaches and let all of the teachers try it at lunch to get some feedback. There are 6 teacher lunches so quite a few teachers got to sample it.
