Depends on where you go. Oahu (Honolulu/Waikiki)-the main island is very touristy. It's beautiful and I can't say enough about the flowers and tropical fruit! Yum! We drove on the Pali Highway to the other side of the island to Kaneohe (sp?) It was gorgeous! So lush and green. You would think you're in Japan with an occasional Buddhist Temple peaking out through the trees.

If we go next year we would start off on Oahu then fly over to Kauai.. Oahu is where Pearl Harbor is located and is definitely something you want to visit. The flight over was hell on wings for me. I don't like to fly and always get at least a migraine or bad headache. Take a thick book to pass the time. From the US West Coast mainland the flight will average about 5-6 hours. That's five or six hours OVER WATER. I hate that.

The atmosphere is very laid back and relaxing.

I'm really tired. It's been a long day.

    Talk tomorrow!

    Good Morning ladies!
Today we have a very sunny day and the Carnival will be wonderful.
I've never been in Hawaii, but like CG said, every place can be more or less touristic. It depends where exactly you go.
Once we spent a wonderful week in Venice, one of the most touristic place, but we went in November and we found non touristic restaurants and smart, authentic corners as well!
Like CG I know the problem with migraine if flying! The hostesses know this very well and they offer aspirin (2 tablets) if necessary. I don't like to take this, but suffer is not a solution. The best way to prevent this is drink! No alcohol of course, but water, water and water.
On sea I was once very sick and this during our honeymoon. An how sick!
At the moment I didn't mind to die! icon_eek.gif
After this for about 25 years I was never as sick. I learned not to reduce breathe and if it really bad I take "travel-gum". This goes directly from the mucosa of the mouth in blood and in 2-5 minutes it helps.

Monday night I came home from the house of my mother and I have to make my homework prior going to the Carneval.
Tomorrow and Friday will be working day, I mean working outside!

    Have a good time!

I love less touristy destinations. I didn't know touristy was a word but it spell checked it for me. I have these pictures that I would love Hawaii. I also love lush flowers and what about fruit trees and coconuts!?

Thank you for the tag, awalde!

It must be the combination of cabin pressure thing and nerves. Yes, word to the wise: NEVER drink alcohol in flight. NEVER.

Next time I fly I will have to take some type of sedative to calm my nerves.

Oh, and fresh coconut and pineapple at the source is beyond description.

For some reason I could never love Pina colada even smack dab in the middle of the Bahamas.

I'm also that type of Hawaiian tourist with long sleeves, sunglasses, wide brim sun hat and layers upon layers of sunscreen. icon_lol.gif
