Question: Is it absolutely necessary to blanch the nuts for this recipe? ^^

Traditionally, I'd think the answer would be yes. However walnuts are fiddly even if unchopped to blanch of all their skin. It wouldn't look as pretty but maybe I'd say you don't have to do those but I do recommend blanching the almonds (their skins would become loose and not so appetizing or so tasty in my opinion) and pistachios (for their bright green colour - color).
