This is the newest List Game where you pick a number and name something the next person needs to list. The next person will answer, then pick a number and something that the person after them needs to list. And so on. In the interest of not making the task impossible, let's keep the numbers used to 10 or less.

Last post from the old thread:

I cant be overly specific, becuase I am always tagging recipes in the tag games here and that tends to dictate our menus!

But I do tend heavily towards pasta, both tomato based and cream based sauces
rice in risotto or jambalaya or as an accompaniment
    indian and thai curries

    I'm a great fan of one-dish meals icon_smile.gif

what three things do you hope to have done by this time next year?
    Mon Jan 30, 2012 12:22 pm Groupie
    1. Top priority is the outdoor kitchen DH started almost 2 years ago! AAARRRGGGHHHHH, need I say more?!
    2. Must attend to the facia on the front porch, again
    3. and some stains on LR ceiling from a previous leak
    4. must also paint interior, all the rooms this year

Do you have any cleaning tips? For example: I use a spray bottle and mix ammonia and water to clean almost everything. Any #

*To keep your plastic containers from getting stained from things like tomato sauce, rub the inside with vegetable oil before placing the food in the container.

*Whenever you empty a jar of dill pickles, use the left-over juice to clean the copper bottoms of your pans. Just pour the juice in a large bowl, set the pan in the juice for about 15 minutes. Comes out looking like new.

*Shampoo cleans ring around the collar since it's caused by oil, dirt and grime that gathers around the neck. Apply your regular shampoo to the neck area of the garment, gently scrub, then launder as usual.

*WD-40 does a multitude of things. You can use it to remove price stickers, gum and crayon marks. Works on metal, plastics, TV screens and freshly painted walls (most paints). It also shines up a stainless steel appliance.

*Wipe your tv screen and monitor with a dryer sheet to keep them from attracting dust.

*Clean your dishwasher with Tang. It leaves it sparkling clean and smell free. It also works on toilets too.

*Table salt and baking soda makes a great silver polish/cleaner. Line the bottom of your sink or baking glass with aluminum foil. Fill the foil lined container or sink with steaming hot water. Add salt & baking soda, usually 2 TBSP (I don't measure it). Drop in silver items so they're touching the foil. In a few minutes, you'll see the tarnish gone. Remove, rinse and gently buff dry. Reapply salt & baking soda as needed.

**I also tightly wrap my silverware place settings in plastic wrap to keep the air out. Or you can store in a container with chalk.

5 chickens? no. 5 cats? no. 5 children? Well, I only have 1 but I'm sure I could find 4 more. Ha! I have a garage full of stuff I could sell but I think I'll just donate instead. Maybe old cell phones, cameras, lap tops, tv's, hmmmm that's a good idea!

Instead of working where you do, what would you rather do for $?

all my habits are normal ......... for me ..... icon_wink.gif

I hate and detest a raised toilet lid, almost daily I walk into the bathroom after my husband and put the lid down, even though I'm going to raise it again for me in a moment or so!

I'm very OCD about switching off lights, closing doors, cupboards, etc, left to my own devices it could take me a good half hour to leave the house as I check and check and check ....

I dont like suggestions about what to make for dinner, I'M the cook, I'LL say what we have for dinner ... icon_redface.gif

Laundry goes in the laundry bin and nowhere else, is that clearly understood!

No baking after 5pm (that's for my elder daughter icon_wink.gif after I've spent half the night taking cookies out of the oven because she was going out and didnt have time to wait for them!)

If we're going any distance (my husband and I), I drive ....... he is only to drive us if its local.
Used to be, he could drive us even if it was far, but I would sit in the back. After we had issues about that, I revised it to ok, I drive icon_wink.gif

I'm a bit manic about recycling (which is not as big a thing over here as it is in other parts of the world), but personally I feel very strongly about it. I've had to restrain myself from rescuing bottles and cardboard from other peoples bins or the roadside icon_redface.gif

I wash and re-use those little plastic sandwich bags, and freezer bags

I'm not going to tell you when I take the christmas tree down, suffice it to say it stays up longer than the average christmas tree (it's just so pretty ...... icon_lol.gif )

and I've barely scratched the surface ....... come on, your turn, what are some of your quirks? icon_smile.gif
    Wed Feb 08, 2012 1:23 am Groupie
All doors must be shut or open all the way!

Turn of the lights if you don't need them!

Close all drawers and cabinets when not actively using them

keeping my spices organized so I can easily find them

keeping my pantry foods where they belong so I will easily know what I need to replenish

    Pick up after yourself

    rude drivers drive me crazy!

people who ask you a question, but they don't like/agree with your answer so they either keep asking the question or try to persuade you to agree with them

Please list 5 or more places you would like to go to in the winter

"people who ask you a question, but they don't like/agree with your answer so they either keep asking the question or try to persuade you to agree with them"

lol Junie, that is totally my husband, he will ask me the same thing for weeks if he is not happy with the answer, it makes me laugh, he thinks if he just keeps asking, sooner or later he will get the answer he wants!!!!
