I remember when Sasha (elder daughter) cut her own hair aged about 4, yes, she had to go for buzz job (is that the right thing, a buzz haircut? very very short?

LOL! Yes, a buzz job! A head like peach fuzz
I hope it didn't take too long for it to grow out.

dana, I saw Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close and also The Descendants. They were both excellent, a bit sad, but totally different from one another.

Thanks Junie! I love hearing about a movie through here, as I don't give credit to the critics much. My brother saw The Descendants and said it was pretty good. An 'excellent' rating from him would have to be an earth shattering movie, a sports movie or a frat movie lol

My brother owned a Dodge like that.
I remember skinny steering wheels with a big knob used to turn the wheel. I also remember when they sold do-it-yourself fake leather steering wheel covers that you laced up.

I remember the old time gas stations that when you pulled in, you drove over hoses that would make ding sounds. Which prompted the attendant to RUN to your car (with a smile yet) to start filling up your car. He'd squeegee the windshield, lift the hood and check the oil, water levels, belts and hoses then check the tire pressure all before the pump stopped. Back then, with a fill up, you might get green stamps, towels, dinner plates, drinking glasses, toys or knickknacks. After you were done, you ran back over the dinging hose line and set off onto one of the future's endangered two laned highways.
I remember my mom telling my dad which station to stop for gas to finish a collection of 'free for filling up' gifts lol

I remember back when there weren't mini-marts or convenient stores. We got all our last minute things at the corner market or at the small grocery stores blocks away. Stores weren't open on Sundays but the pharmacies were. Back then, I don't remember the pharmacies carrying much more than prescriptions, over the counter medical supplies, candy, soda and beer (beer was always locked up on Sundays). I remember when my dad used to smoke and would send us up the the store for cigarettes. No one ever thought anything of a kid under 12 buying them, they knew it was for an adult.

I remember telling my niece when she was around 6 years ago that grandma let us stay up all night to watch men land on the moon on television. Very matter-of-factly she asked why we didn't just tape it. This is the same niece (same age) that when I was playing with my nephew (8 yrs old) with a world globe - we were naming countries and finding them, she proudly pointed to the globe and asked "Ok, where is Famous Barr"?
She is now 30 years old and I like to occasionally remind her of how funny she was when she was young lol

I know, sometimes younger generations can't conceive of what modern technology was unavailable to us ... and we're not that old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had to laugh watching my elder daughter bake yesterday, meticulously smoothing an icecream layer onto an icecream cake, with her tongue sticking out .... I said, I can just see that same face at age 4, exactingly colouring in, and no matter if I said, I think that's fine Sash, no, it was fine when SHE said it was fine!!!! hasn't changed ....

I remember wearing fat yarn to hold up the pony tails in my hair.
