    To Whom It May Concern:

I am having problems printing out this recipe, as well as many others. I printed at first and all I got was a blank sheet, I opened the print preview of this
recipe and it shows it's blank. In the past I never had this problem until now. I've checked my printer and it is fine, because I am able to print off of other websites. Am I the only one that is having this problem? What can be done to solve this problem? Thank you,in advance, for your cooperation.

    Sincerely,
    cookinglover

If you are using IE8 it is an issue that some but not all users have. I have it myself.

My workaround, which is now my preferred way to print recipes, is to select View Fullscreen, then go to the browser printer, select Print, then hit preferences to select landscape printing, then Print. This has the ingredients on one side and the instructions on the other side, and I find it much nicer to use while cooking.

If you are using IE8 or 9, also make sure compatibility is checked, under Tools, just in case that's a factor.

In any event, please let staff know what browser using, and please realize that it's now the weekend.

You should not have to go through all that print preview stuff just to print out a recipe. They have the ways and means to correct the problem but seem too lazy to do so.
I wonder what their programers get paid to do!

    Nana,

I went to the "print preview" to find out whether
or not the recipe showed on there or not and all it came up was blank just like when I printed off the websites "printer friendly" section. I just can't believe that the Internet Explorer upgradings would
effect certain websites from allowing you to print an
    article, let alone a recipe.

Are you trying to print using the PRINT THIS RECIPE link on the recipe's page or are you trying to use your browser's print command to print the recipe?

It's helpful for the staff to know what your browser/version is when trying to assist you.

    IE8, FireFox, Safari, etc.

IE upgrades have caused problems elsewhere. The company I work for refuses to upgrade to IE9 because it causes so many problems for us- it's taking a lot of time to change our programs to match the browser. We may have been the last place to upgrade to IE8, and that was from IE6, since those changes are not necessarily easily incorporated, so we ended up skipping a version. And that is the only browser we use and only a small universe of programs is permitted on company computers. In any event, while I sometimes chafe at the problems I experience, I am glad I'm not the one trying to make the whole thing work.

    Molly 53,

I have been trying to print off the "Print this recipe" from the recipe page of Food.com. The Internet Explorer I have is IE9, I had to search information on that because I wasn't to sure about what I had.My homepage is MSN.

    Is Compatability checked?

The website Food.com shows up fine on the Internet,
however, when you press "Print recipe" it comes out from my printer a blank piece of paper with the background and the header and footer only, and NO recipe. That's when I said something not right, so I open my "Print Preview" to see whats going on and even that, on the screen, comes out blank looking with showing only the background with the header and footer viewed.

Many people have found that making sure the compatability view box is checked clears up a whole lot of problems. It will be either a torn paper icon on your toolbar or can be found under Tools.

    Zeldaz,

Under my "Tools" category, I do have the "Compatibility View" listed but it is not available for opening only the "Compatibility View
Settings" is available for me to open. In that area, it shows a listings that are compatible sites and on that list "food.com" wasn't one of them, so I typed it in to add it to the list, however, it still didn't change anything.
What gets me is that I can print my recipes off of
"foodnetwork.com" with no problem, but not "food.com,"
    it's weird.

Yes, I do see the Forum page okay on "Print Preview"
but when I "Print Previewed" the recipe for "Chocolate
    Snap Cookies" it was blank.

I have the exact same problem. And I don't have this prob with other recipe websites.

I have to use the work around - that is, viewing the recipe as full page, then printing from that page.
I should not have to do that.
