Those of you on fb have likely seen these but for those that aren't...
Madison and Dawson had a great day. Started with their stockings then they had to peruse our gifts. They enjoyed the extra fuss and attention from the guests except that Madison wasn't 100% thrilled about going for a walk with my brother and Don. A total Mummy's girl icon_smile.gif

Maddie's toy lasted less than 10 minutes. Actually it was intended to be Dawson's but they make those calls amongst themselves. icon_smile.gif

Dawson was fascinated by the tissue and wrapping paper...

and of course had to see what everyone else got too. icon_smile.gif

That is too funny. Back in the 80s I had a Siberian Husky and we used to wrap her Christmas gifts and place them under the tree.

She could smell those latex play toys and would unceremoniously rip open the package to get at her goodies before Christmas.

I thought I could outsmart her and place her gifts in a fireplace stocking but she could smell them there, too. She snatched the stockings off of the mantle. She was a very naughty girl.

Coincidentally... her name was Vixen. True story.

I used to have a very smart pug. The first year we had him we wrapped a box of treats for him and put it under the tree. After he got his gift that year, no gifts were ever safe with him around. He remembered from year to year and would open ANY gift that was placed under the tree in the off chance one containied treats. This was the dog we trained to stay out of the kitchen when we were eating. He would sit at the edge of the tile and wait. If we weren't looking, he'd put one paw over the line and wait for one of us to notice and tell him no. Then he'd pull his paw back and wait, never taking his eyes off us. It was a game with him. He also used to "ding" his metal food dish with his toenail when it was empty. He'd keep dinging it until someone would put food in it.
