Side dishes for Chicken Pot Pie?

I am not a huge fan of chicken pot pies and rarely make them unless DH is pushing for one. He's pushing now.

I have a recipe I will use but I'm always a bit baffled about what to serve with it. Potatoes seem excessive as there is plenty of starch in the crust(s) - vegetable sides are difficult (imo) because the pie already has a bunch in there.

What do you guys serve Pot Pie with?

A salad works nicely..any kind, Chef's, just a lettuce wedge with dressing or maybe a fruit type salad.

Hot rolls or biscuits, roasted asparagus or brussel sprouts, green salad for sure, apple sauce or fried apple wedges dusted with cinnamon sugar.

Yes, too much other stuff. Crust is the bread, potatoes the starch, plus usually has peas and other vegetables. It really doesn't need much more.

The only thing I serve with pot pie is spiced apples on the side.

Thanks! This place is great for those days when I just can't think outside my little brain box. I would have never thought of spiced apples.
So spiced apples and a green salad and we will both be happy icon_smile.gif

You are welcome anytime. I'm about 20 minutes from Toronto airport so I can pick you up.
If its the Pot Pie you are prepared to travel for there is no need to run out of the door just yet.
Tonight is a noodle bowl. Pot Pie in the next few days. icon_smile.gif
