    Hello, me an my friends want to make a nice Canadian meal next week, already got various options for meat dishes and salads, but I can't find a nice Canadian side dish! icon_sad.gif Can anyone help me? I am looking for an easy-to-do, up to 1 hour preperation style recipe...

    Hi Click and welcome to the forum. Canada is such a big country with many different foods coming from all the regions so it may be hard to pinpoint down just one side dish.

    Wild rice comes from the western prairie provinces so you may want to try something like
    Pacific Northwest Mushroom & Wild Rice Pilaf

    Potatoes are a regular side dish, I believe all across Canada. One of my favourite ways to prepare them is to scallop the potatoes, where the potatoes are thinly sliced, then layered and baked. Here is a recipe that is wonderful as well.

    Potatoes or rice dishes are usually nice options regardless, especially with the cooler weather here. I can't think of anything that is unique to just Canada, though.

    Since this was posted a couple weeks ago at this point, what did you decide on?
