I have learned through Weight Watchers and my own experience that when I hit a plateau I need to ramp up my calorie intake for a day or two so my body does not stay in starvation mode. It helps me, I hope it helps with your weight lose.

Try switching to the Paleo diet for a while. I love it. Works like a charm!

Try lifting weights. Lifting weights increases your metabolism. I do it in front of the tv to keep my mind occupied. I also use myfitnesspal.com. You enter your weight, what you eat and your exercise. It's a great free website to help you keep track of your progress. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I log my food at an online site called Nutrimirror and it is very helpful in helping me stay balanced nutritionally which really helps with the weight loss. You should take a quick tour and see if it is helpful. The site is free and once you get the hang of it by taking the tour it takes minutes a day to use.

I agree completely with the previous response from KY. I have lost 30 lbs a year ago on Weight Watchers Plus (a great program). It's not a diet, but a new way of thinking. We went to Europe Italy for 4 days, then on a cruise, then went to Colorado for 6 weeks in our camper. I wasn't dieting on those vacations, but maintained my weight, as I did lots of walking and even went to the workout room a few times on that cruise. I had fun, but didn't get crazy...ate and drank plenty, but didn't go overboard. I then wanted to lose a few more lbs. Went throught the holidays too. Couldn't lose...kept going back and forth with 3 lbs for about 2 months. I finally broke through. I found that if you don't put pressure on yourself...don't think of it as a diet, but a lifestyle change (making better choices) drink plenty of fluids, and exercise (don't have to get crazy, but keep moving...walk the dogs, park further away, take the stairs instead of the elevator, work in the yard), and eat sensibly (lots of fruits and veggies, use spray butter on cooked veggies, use regular salad drsg but don't drown your salad. Keep smart snacks...look at lables when shopping. Don't give up!

This happened to me around the same time (30lbs). I was eating healthy food, exercising and couldnt figure out what i was doing wrong. Come to find out, the only fault i was making was doing the same thing, eating the same foods, etc. My body had adapted to everything healthy I was doing. So, I invested in Shakeology and the book Extreme Fat Smash by Dr. Ian K. Smith. Within the first week of changing my diet, I dropped 3.5lbs. It's all about changing your entire plan. If you're already eating healthy, it's time to switch things up. If you want more info on shakeology, you can visit: http://myshakeology.com/esuite/home/SarahLynn
I agree with another user on here.. it's a lifestyle change, not a diet. These are both LIFESTYLE changes for me. I still have a few cheat meals, but I keep them to twice a month now instead of an entire weekend.. (lol), etc.
Hope this helps. I know weight loss can be frustrating but stick with it!!

Absolutely essential to build muscle if you want to move forward from that plateau. You may not notice a significant weight loss, but you will notice how much smaller you are, how your clothes fit so much differently. You will NOT bulk up, you will look leaner and feel so much stronger. The muscle is what boosts the metabolism, and simply dieting with aerobic exercise is not enough. Also, there is a thing called "The Golden Hour"- meaning within that first hour after a good strenuous workout, you should have something with both a carb and protein...half a peanut butter sandwich, even chocolate milk (skim), anything like that, and it keeps your metabolism up longer, and puts glycogen back into your muscles, reducing muscle soreness (or something like that!). Try this. IT REALLY WORKS.

Go to (removed by host), look under products and then RVL. It is a weight management system that is based in glucose stabalization and is outstanding; just what you are looking for and all based on good nutrition. This system is specifically designed, among other things, to break through the plateaus.

I believe if you read the terms to this site, you should not be advertising a for profit site. Maybe I misuderstood but i would hate to see someone booted off because they agreed to the terms without reading them and then went against the terms. If I am wrong or offended you, I am sorry.

Try for one week, no carb. Eat chicken, fish, eggs.

Sorry if I did anything wrong; this is my very first time on a community site. Weight Watchers and several other diet mechanisms had already been mentioned so I was really excited to tell about the new RVLution at Mona Vie. I have lost 43 lbs, feel fantastic and have an easy, logical and healthy means of losing more and then of maintaining forever. Mona Vie has been joined by N.Y. bestseller author and fitness-nutritional guru, Mark McDonald. "Ditch the Diet" at Mona Vie is all about glucose stabilization. It is fantastic and I would like for anyone to find about it for themselvs. No one would need to purchase anything from me; it is all available on the Mona Vie site. Thanks! Nanna

I assume you'll think this is radical as most people do, but possibly you'll try it. I find it to be the best way to break through any sort of plateau and wish I had known about the idea of "Cheat Days" when I was dieting.

Perhaps read more of the authors work?

5 years ago when I decided to make a life style change I started using http://caloriecount.about.com/
It is a great resource for tracking nutrition, calories, and fitness and while I do not use there forums know they have quite a few. One thing I like is you can go back and see what was going on when you were losing and what was going on when you weren’t.
So you know where I coming from have lost 89 pounds and find matiness harder than losing. Recently fell off program and gain a few pounds and have just started getting back on track.

Chef #1229455 the powers that be, frown upon anyone posting to a site that makes a profit from it, just mentioning it does not constitute spam, but posting links do. I am a firm believer that some links should be removed and some should be left. The ones I leave are the big sites that almost everyone knows, where you can log your food, etc. If it seems as though it is advertising the site, which we get many of daily I or someone should delete the links. I have been out of town and had not noticed all the posting to this site in over a week.
I hope you understand and will come back and visit again.
Thanks to everyone for all their great tips.
