    Too busy to create a recipe? We would still love you to play with us! It's easy to participate. Simply look over the recipes and select those that appeal to you to make & sample between Nov 18th & Dec 2nd. Posting your honest review during the Review Period helps determine the top recipes and the winning chefs. We'll even remind you when to post your reviews! Sign up here.

    We've gathered the winners from the last round to assemble a terrific list of ingredients from which to work. They do not know what anyone else was suggesting. They have not seen the complete list so have no early advantage, however they are limited to using no more than three items they submitted.     Susie is the only one who ever sees chef names & the early ingredient list. I do enjoy the creative phase of the contest & play with the ingredients. If I enter a recipe it will be a unique idea from those submitted by others and is not eligible to win a prize. Any entry is for honest feedback only.
    Diana works tirelessly (thanks!), but has no advantages, nor ever sees any chef names connected to a recipe. She is therefore eligble to participate in all facets of the contest.

    Category Craze-E Contest Rules:

    Entrants must develop an original recipe using at least 5 items from the official ingredient list provided. You may use any other ingredients you wish after using those 5; however, the ingredients you use from the Official Contest List should be an essential or basic ingredient of the recipe (not optional or garnish). That is, leaving one of the items out would significantly change the outcome of the recipe.

    Each recipe submission must follow the contest rules, fit within the category, & there is a maximum of three recipes that any one chef may enter. To submit a recipe, please send your recipe from your personal Email with your Recipezaar member name & chef number in the subject line. Send your recipe to (zaar underscore entry Only recipes submitted using this link will be eligible for the contest. NOTE: You will be sent a confirmation when each recipe is received. If you don't get a reply please contact Susie D

    Each entry should contain the following in this order:
    Your Zaar name:
    Your Zaar Chef number:
    Recipe Title:
    Recipe Intro: (optional, but this does help "sell" your recipe)
    Ingredients: No asterisks in this field please.
    Step by Step Directions: Please do not send your entry with a double set of numbered steps!. It causes editing headaches.

    One Course Category:

    By entering you are agreeing to make & review at least the same number of recipes you enter in our contests. In this contest that number is up to three. You are encouraged to make & test as many recipes as you choose beyond that. Please hold your reviews until the Review Period: Sat, Dec 3rd - Mon, Dec 5th

    We ask that your reviews are honest, polite and tactful. Reviews should not be intended to be hurtful.

    To review contest recipes as fairly as possible, we request that you make and taste each recipe that you review. While encouraging everyone to follow the recipes as written, we are aware that sometimes contest ingredients may be hard or impossible to purchase therefore reasonable substitutions are allowed when preparing recipes.

    Photos of recipes should NOT be submitted for any contest recipe until the contest is over and the winners have been named. If a photo is submitted early, the recipe may be disqualified or the recipe by the member posting the early photo/ review may have their recipe disqualified. Photographs may be submitted, by any member, AFTER the winners are announced.

    Honor Code
    Members are not to share their recipe creations with other members and all discussion of submissions and/or reviews is strictly prohibited. Reviews used for the purpose of this contest may only be posted by ONE member of each household. If the same IP address shows on reviews, questions will be raised, reviews will not be used for scoring, and/or the recipe disqualified.

    Fine Print
    1. All recipes will be reviewed to verify the use of FIVE of the official ingredients.
    2. All recipe submissions will be hidden from view until after the deadline.
    3. The recipe poster's name and all reviews will be hidden from view until after the End Date, so as not to bias any reviewers. Any attempt to identify or promote a recipe by the submitter OR ANYONE will result in disqualification, and a possible warning on their account at Recipezaar. Recipes should only be saved into your MAIN or another PRIVATE cookbook so as not to unfairly promote a recipe. All participants are on their honor to not share their recipe titles with anyone else. Doing so will result in disqualification.
    4. Once the Contest is over, all recipes will be returned to the original chef's account.
    5. Recipezaar runs on Eastern Time so all dates are for 11:59pm Recipezaar time unless otherwise specified.
    6. All submissions above three will be disqualified.
    7. The contest winners win the glory & respect of their peers and a prize.
    8. Discussion of reviewing standards is strongly discouraged as it has been proven to discourage participation as well as lead to hurt feelings.

    All recipes must use a minimum of 5 ingredients from the following contest list.

    1. Fresh mustard or collard greens
    2. Havarti cheese
    3. Sirloin steak
    4. Quinoa
    5. Vegetable broth
    6. Refrigerated pizza dough (canned or equivalent )
    7. Pistachios
    8. Poblano chilies, fresh or canned

    9. Strawberry preserves
    10. Red bell peppers (fresh or jarred)
    11. Center cut bacon
    12. Chili powder
    13. Fresh basil
    14. Green Cabbage
    15. Dill Seeds
    16. Brown sugar
    17. Mirin
    18. Cranberries (fresh or frozen)
