    Oktoberfest themed meal

I am supposed to bring a vegetable to an Oktoberfest themed meal. Not German potato salad. It's going to be bratwursts and something else (meat wise).

I am thinking of beets because I am participating in a Community Supported Agriculture experiement and I may have fresh beets.

What is your favorite veggie side dish?

I'm sorry, but we were gone a lot and I never saw your post. I hope you had a nice Octoberfest celebration. I was going to suggest a Sauerkraut Salad/Relish. As far as my favorite sides if you are talking German Veggies it would be:Sellerie (Celriac) Salad, 3 Bean Salad, Red Cabbage, Kale/Gruenkohl, Brusselsprouts, White Asparagus with brown butter,Potato Pancakes and ptato Dumplings. I could go on and now I'm hungry. icon_biggrin.gif wave.gif
I just had a German Dinner and served Beef Rouladen, Red Cabbage, Parsnip-Potato Mash and Creamed Spinach.Chocolate Mousse for Dessert.
