Bunter Teller! Help Please.

If you grew up in Germany, then you would have had a "Bunter Teller" (a beautifully decorated almost bowl like cardboard plate)filled with marzipan, choclates, nuts, lebkuchen, oranges etc. everyone in the family got one.Under the tree on Christmas eve.
I am trying to find out where I could buy some???
So far none of my searches have come up with one.
I am giving a Seminar at the university here, on German Christmas Customs and my memories of Christmas.I have found everything except this item.
I need it pretty fast, since the seminar is on the 25th of October. Anyone???

Have you checked any German delis? My parents used to have those here in Canada for Christmas. They did reuse them from year to year but they must have replaced them occasionally.

Thanks!!! That's exactly what I was looking for, but not at those prices! I did check German Deli's, but no one had anything like it.
Well, my seminar is over and was great even without them. I had all the German traditional sweets from Stollen to Marzipan and even 2 Advent Calendars to pass around and give away afterwards. I also had a wonderful Tape narrated by Loretta Swit about "Christmas in Germany" to show them.

sorry this is soooooo late, a pain have to sign in and up to answer something about a year old.
Bute Teller can not be bought, they are made by the people that give them. I have just made two. one for the ladies at the postoffice and the other for building and safety.
usually you just go buy the ingredients. marzipan potatoes, ginger bread cookies, oranges, apples, nuts, tangerines, chocolate money, and other pralines or whatever suites you as sweets. kids usually get the plates for Nickolaus and adults for christmas/new years as a symbol for prosperity and that our plates may be filled in the new year as well.
in my family we have always included some of the chocolate ornaments that get hung on a tradition german Christmas tree, which the kids get to eat when the tree is taken down for helping cleaning the ornaments and decorations off. hope this helps... even though tis late
