Oooh La La! French Savoury Ham, Cheese and Olive Cake

I want to be able to pull up in French. Japanese does lots of French cooking too and they pronounce it sela or something like that. What would be the proper French word for these savory cakes?

I found the answer myself googling Japanese sites which have many recipes for them. It's called cakes sales and I was able to pull up many recipes via French web sites. icon_biggrin.gif

I believe that there is an accent (acute) mark over the "e," meaning that it woud be pronounced "sah'LAY" (salé means "salted"). I have made those olive cakes from Patricia Wells At Home in Provence cookbook, and tasty indeed they are!

Thanks - I knew it had an accent over e over sale but did not know how to put it here. How do you you put accents using keyboard?

I have never been able to figure out how to configure my keyboard to insert accent marks! When I need to do so, I go to Babelfish (a translation site) and type in the word I want to translate---then copy/paste the translated word. That's what I did in my reply above! I'm sure there's an easier way---anybody know?
