Starting Projects vs. Finishing Projects

This just reminded me...I was given a crocheted (with thread!) bedspread that my grandma made (was making) after she passed away. It's a queen-size spread...beautiful pattern and stitching...yellowed off-white color (from age) and she didn't do the last three squares (or hadn't attached them if she did). I don't have a pattern for it either, nor do I know where I could find the pattern (even if I could match her stitching). I do sometimes put it on the bed in the summer, anyway, just folding the row that is unfinished under. I've considered taking the last row off since it would be plenty big without it, but I just haven't been able to bring myself to doing that 'cause Grandma made it!

I just love it!!! I was hoping that I wasn't the only one with this problem!!! LOL I get new ideas & rush out & buy the things needed & there it sits!! I have enough things to do thru at least 2 retirements!!!! My DH just laughs at me. Maybe "one of these days............."

I wouldn't say I'm a crafter, but about 15 years ago I took a real liking to crewel work. I found this great bird feeder kit in 1988 - had a lot of the birds we see in these parts, finished it, and gave it to my mom-in-law for Christmas. Now it's back in my house. I have about 5? 6? 7? other ones half-finished and stashed in various closets and drawers around here - all birds.Guess I lack the patience to work on all those feathers, and French knots.

True confession time...Since I started this thread I've started 4 more projects !

I finished one,though (a cross stitch bookmark), and another bookmark is past the halfway point.

And besides that I bought a new craft kit that I needed like yet another hole in the head!

Is there a "Crafters Anonymous"???

I"ve finished 1 project (framed and everything) this summer and I am on the way (more than 1/2 way) on finishing a second--only the background is left. I'm hoping that it will be finished by the end of the summer and frame it in September. I went to one workshop but I have no intention of finishing the project--a fabric covered box--but I heard of other workshops in the fall that I am dying to go too. One in November is just a bookmark but a geogeous bookmark--perfect for putting in a birthday card.

What are you doing with your bookmarks? Are they gifts or for yourself?

They are gifts, one already given and the other will be given when I get it done.

I'm a planner, a starter and once in awhile a finisher.
I have lots of craft items I bought for things I wanted to make but can no longer remember what they were. I have a closet full of starters but can no longer find the patterns (I have a habit of putting things in safe places so I don't lose them but can't remember where those places are). About the only time I finish something is if I'm doing it for someone else or if it's any easy craft and then I tend to go overboard and make way to many.
I happy to know there are other out there just like me.
