New Kids on the Block Tag GameGo to page 1, 2, 3 ... 28, 29, 30 Next Page >>
Banner courtesy justcallmetoni Welcome to New Kids On The Block tag game. I am NorthwestGal, and I will be hosting this game. This game is similar to that familiar childhood game called Tag, except players are tagging recipes. The focus of this tag game is to encourage players to tag newly posted recipes that are often overlooked because they might not have any previous reviews or photos which can make them ineligible for other tag games. Who Can Play? Anyone can play. There are no requirements that players must have a specific number of recipes, reviews or photos posted to their account. What recipes can be tagged for this game? Any NEW recipe that has been posted to this site within the last month (the last 30 days) can be tagged for this game. The recipes you tag do not have to have any prior reviews or photos. In fact, because this game focuses on new recipes, it is highly likely that the recipes tagged for this game will not have any reviews or photos. On the other hand, if you wish to tag a newly posted recipe that happens to have a review or photo, it is still eligible to be tagged for this game, as long as the recipe was posted (and added to the recipe database of this website) within the 30-day limit. How to Play: 1) Choose ANY new recipe that has been posted to this website within the last month (or the last 30 days). 2) Post a reply to this thread stating which recipe you are preparing, and include the recipe name, recipe number, posting chef's name, and the date the recipe was posted. 3) Make the recipe within 2 weeks. 4) Post your review to the recipe page. 5) Report back to this thread that you have made and reviewed the recipe you tagged. Please include the recipe name, recipe number, and posting chef's name. At that point, your tag will be complete. What if I need more time to complete a tag? When you chose to tag someone’s recipe, you are committing to making that recipe and reviewing it within 2 weeks (14 days). However, we realize life sometimes gets in the way of our cooking commitments. So if you are not able to meet the 2 week deadline, please ask for an additional 2 week extension. Extensions are for two weeks from the date that the tag was originally due (and not from the date in which the extension was requested). Players who pass the 4 week deadline and still have not completed a tag will be put on the Restricted List, unless they have special circumstances. If you feel you have a special circumstance preventing you from completing a tag within the allotted 4 weeks, please contact me through private zmail. Once on the Restricted List, you will no longer be able to participate in any of the tag games or other events in the Cooking Games with Friends Forum until you have made and reviewed all recipes that have you on the Restricted List. This is done in order to keep it fair for all players in the games. How to find newly posted recipes: There are a few ways to find new recipes. One way is to.... 1. Go to the first page of the Home Page. 2. Go to the JUST ADDED feature on the far right side (located below the Recipe of the Day box). 3. Under Newly Added, click Recipes. 4. Start scrolling through the recipes listed, and find a recipe that appeals to you. There will usually be multiple pages of newly posted recipes to scroll through, listed by the date the recipes were posted. You can find additional lists of new recipes by advancing forward one day at a time by clicking Next Day, or going back one day at a time by clicking Previous Day (located on either side of the date that is above the list of recipes). Another way is to.... 1. Go to the first page of the Home Page. 2. Go to the very bottom of the page and under the category of RECIPES, click "New Recipes". 3. Multiple pages of all new recipes posted for the current week will appear. Start scrolling through the recipes listed, and find a recipe that appeals to you. You can go back a week by clicking "Previous Week", or advance forward a whole week by clicking "Next Week" (located on either side of the week that is above the list of recipes). Another (a bit more tedious) way is to.... 1. Search for a new recipe by conducting a search for a particular recipe that you wish to make. You do this by entering the recipe title in the box at the top of the webpage, and click the "Search" button. 2. All recipes that fit the parameters of your search will be listed. You can change the rank order of the recipes by going to the line that says SORT BY, and click DATE POSTED. The recipes will then be relisted, from newest to oldest recipes. 3. Among those recipes listed, select the recipe that most appeals to you. If it was posted within the last 30 days, it is eligible for The New Kids On The Block tag game. What recipes are eligible for this tag game You can choose any new recipe you like, it is up to you. As long as the recipe was posted to the website within the last month (30 days), it is eligible to be tagged for this game, even if someone has already tagged it or has already reviewed it. New recipes can be tagged multiple times, as long as they remain within the 30-day posting limit. Are photographs required to be posted While photographs are always welcome, they are NOT required to be included in your posts when reporting completion of one of your recipe tags. There is a post in the Photo Forum archives that gives very helpful guidelines on how to post photos in the forums. The direct link is... How To Post Photos in the Forum Threads and just scroll down to the post from Derf dated May 30, 2005 and look for the heading "how to post photos in the forum threads". Participation banner
