Hi, I'm in the UK so that's why I'm posting here rather than in one of the US forums, as I'd rather talk to UK cooks - or rather cooks
in the UK .
Okay, I just got a crab from Tescos the other day and just finished disembowelling it.
Now I've eaten crab before so I know I like it (had some of the large claw meat with a salad yesterday), but I've never before had to take the meat out of the crab myself (It was cheaper than a ready dressed crab).
I'll post a pic of what I've managed to get out of the crab, but I'm a little uncertain - I thought crab meat was either white or brown, but what I've ended up with is a lot of bright orange meat, a little dull yellow meat and the white meat from the claws and some from inside the shell.
Questions:
1) Are all those different colours of meat okay to eat?
2) any tasty ideas what to cook with it?
Orange? (I have a couple of oranges handy) (maybe some sort of orange sauce?)
Mayonaise?
Soup?
anything else?
No chilli please! No hots!
I like garlic though and ginger.
