I can answer that for you Dreamer. Everything is good except for pork and alcohol.
Gelatin should be avoided also unless it is kosher. Most gelatin is made from pork.
they make zabihah beef gelatin also. I bought some Kosher marshmallows recently at my local Sprout made with fish gelatin. Wasn't the best tasting or maybe it was getting over they psychology of fish gelatin ;p
I am trying to remember where I saw vegan gelatine, I know you can get it! really ? cool. Not sure what I'd use it for but I do like marsh-mellows . I bet I could find it here Cali is Vegan Mecca after all lol
I think we're quite lucky in the UK, we can get almost all the childhood favourite sweet made with halal beef gelatine - probably because there's such a huge Indian and Pakistani community. I bought 6 bags from my local shop just yesterday - Jelly Babies, Dolly Mixtures, Liquorice Allsorts, Marshmallows, Coconut Mushrooms and Fizzy Cola Bottles! There's a good veggie / vegan gelatine available in all the big supermarkets called Vegegel which is made from seaweed I believe. ohhh ya seaweed. Agar I remember now! They use that stuff in dental molds too lol. I prefer my seaweed on sushi. Coconut Mushrooms? I never saw any of that stuff in NY in that area.

I woke up this morning to find a shed load of new posts here which was fantastic! A very warm welcome to all our new players : MikeKey, WiGal, Dreamer in Ontario, Maya's Mama and Acadia* - we're thrilled to have you playing Ramadan Tag once again
As far as the stipulations for recipes goes, they are only 2:
# Recipes from any country may be used
# Any ingredient may be used - with the exception of pork and alcohol products. (A player may choose to tag a recipe that has a wine vinegar for example as long as they mention in the review what they substituted for it.)
I will allow a few more hours for sign-ups then I think we should get started - we can collect more players along the way
I think I started tagging about 4 hours after Um Safia posted this. My apologies if I took it too literally
