    Slow Cooker Dulce De Leche (Latin American caramel)

    This recipe looks interesting. I've made it before in a pressure cooker, but making Dulce De Leche (Latin American caramel) in a slow cooker looks like the easiest way to do it. You put sealed cans of sweetened condensed milk in hot water (boiling pan on stove for 90 minutes; pressure cooker for 20 minutes; slow cooker for several hours) and end up with caramel (pourable or real thick, depending on how long you cook it) from cooking the sugar and milk mixture in the can. Has anyone made this recipe? The caramel is used in dessert recipes or on ice cream.

    Thanks. I guess the only uncertainty is the exact amount of time needed. I'll have to experiment with that.

    Let us know how that works out. The size of the crock pot would be a variable as to time.
