I have to make a last minute change to my VIP tag. I've waited and waited for the empty spot at the grocery store labelled "cipoline onions" to be filled. But nothing, and the farmer's market farmers don't know what I'm talking about... So even though one day I will find those onions, I guess that day isn't going to be in time for July veggie swap.

However... I did find a winner in Elmotoo's Danish Pickled Cucumbers (Syltede Agurker) and would like to substitute that if I may.

I unfortunately won't be able to play for August. Two-week vacation planned to California. But I'll be back in September!

I've completed Chef Kate's How to Make Dried Chickpeas in a Crock-Pot #392583. This method works great. If you like chick peas you've got to give it a try.

I have to second that. I just made another round of these for yesterday's dinner and today's hummus lunch. I can't explain it but the flavor is sooo much better than the canned ones!

I am also here to report completion of Singapore Five-Spice Stir Fry #137136 for our VIP chef. I am happy to say it is the first in a succession of recipes that have made eggplant work for me. Hooray!!!!!

I've also finished Glorious Grill Cheese and Pickles! How Good is That? Longmeadow #391744 for dear Andi icon_smile.gif

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Remodeling and the endless shopping involved has taken a toll on my cooking. I will make Elmotoo's Artichokes a La Polita #170920 today or tomorrow; DH won't eat artichokes, although I love them on occasion, so I will make this for a lunch. I am looking forward to this particular recipe and want to be the first to photograph it!
