Alton Brown announced that Good Eats won't be continuing after this season. I'm super sad; I started cooking because Good Eats inspired me and now.. it's going away :tear:

I think some of the episodes are available on DVD.
I suppose after a while a cooking show runs out of ideas.

deepfrydan - very good gave me a good laugh, he sounds like quite a character, hopefully replays will one day come to Australia of his shows, sounds like quite the entertainer.

I am devastated! Good Eats is my favorite cooking show. Why do we lose the good shows like Good Eats, Two Fat Ladies and Wolfgang Puck's Cooking Class while all the mediocre competitive shows and food voyeur shows proliferate? I am so sad

I agree. Seems like the most garbage shows keep their slot and the best fall by the wayside. On the other hand, Good Eats did last for 14 seasons which is quite a while for a show to run.

Yes an unfortunate side effect of commercialism but I have no knowledge of Good Eats or Wolfgang Puck but well as far as the Two Fat Ladies goes and yes they were a very entertaining duo but unfortunately one died of lung cancer a couple or few years back.

At least we have reruns huh? And if they ever stop showing them, we'll start an angry mob

Good eats was my favorite too... I haven't seen it in a few years since I cut off cable to save money but it sucks to know there will be no more...

Some of these have DVDs, and if you can't afford to buy them (or don't want to), you may be able to get them at your local library.

I do know in Australia we can borrow DVD's from the library in a variety of subjects but they are few and far between so to speak and most are older series which in some ways is good as they don't normally appear on TV.

I've checked several cooking show DVDs out of the library. I think the last one I got was Melissa D'Arabian's show.
