    Newbie "Fry Cook" Poster
    Hi me again! I think this is the name of these paastrys, they are more like a crispy pankake and you can have them with honey ( i think that they are fed to women in Algeria after giving birth to get energy levels up) , or they can also be filled with tomato/fennel/onion & pepper sauce.
    They are made from fine semolina and thats as much as I can remember from my mother in law from Algers , she used the palm of her hand to flatten them out to a thin pancake before she cooked like a pancake ontop of hot flat irion. They are delicios and while i was In Algeria i ate every day .
    Anyone know the recipe? Ie tried alot of variations but cant get it right.

    icon_biggrin.gif thnks Uma I have seen many of your recipes on here and each one is great Ive tried quite a few but yet to try Mhajib as I recall when Yemma showed me how to do they are difficult! I did get confused as well over the cake mothers eat after birth its another cake withr honey isnt it? my algerian family live in Algiers and are berebers and I dont knoew if there is a different cake Ill ask next time we sppeak, for now Im very happy trying your fabrecipes!!Jools
