    Hi there Panda,

a working holiday sounds great !what did you do?? as for your dishwasher dying..... I have one now and I hardly ever use it, without thinking I have simply ashed up and it really does not that that love...... I must say that I always dry my washing out on a line if I can. its kindner on the clothes, I dislike drying them from really wet, but am happy to be able to finish them off in the dryer if I have to.

why things always break down one after another I just dont know!

we have another hour of driving before we are back home in Louth and the weather has been kind to us! my sister is cat sitting - which she enjoys too

Oh my golly gosh. I have just picked the last of the blackberries and made them into blackberry curd. Like lemon curd, just using blackberries. Of course I took the bits out of several recipes that I liked and added a few bits of my own and Im in heaven. Fortunately I only had little jars to put it on, so quite a lot has gone in the freezer.

Gosh, I don't know why but once again no notifications of posts in here. I had thought it was quite dead! icon_evil.gif I am so sorry as I would certainly have had a peek had I known anyone was posting!!! I guess I should not rely on getting notifications anymore and just check back often to see if anyone has said anything.

My problem is I have a difficult time finding the forum. It's not as straight forward as it used to be! And I am an old dog who doesn't take well to new tricks.

Lets see what has happened since I last posted. Oh, I had a lovely trip in an ambulance to the hospital. My first one ever. Still waiting for another hospital appointment to have my heart checked at the heart and vascular department of the local hospital. I missed the one they set up for me the other day because I did not receive the letter, which arrived too late for the appointment! (So much for first class Royal Mail!) I have a new appointment date now on the 30th October, so am waiting on that.

I had a blood vessel burst in one of my eyes. Not too attractive and the first time ever for that as well. Just in time to look ghoulish for Halloween though!

Other than that nothing much new to report. I do not lead as exciting a life these days as I did when I worked at the Manor, however I would not give up the life I am living now to go back to working for that horrible woman!

    What's new with everyone else??

Thanks so much Marie for posting the recipe for me on FB, I'll try this out for sure over the Xmas period. Congrats too for having this recipe published in a major mag back home in the U.K., way to go girl !. icon_biggrin.gif

Gosh, so much has happened since I've been here, the most traumatic was a major medical upheaval during this last year, to cut a long story short I had 2 herniated disc's in my neck vertebra's that was causing me tremendous pain in my left shoulder and down my left arm, (a pinched nerve). I'm now a year into this and it's still not right. My spine specialist in Reno is talking surgery but I am holding off as the odds are 50/50 (apparently, the upper neck is where all the major nerves are) for a successful outcome so I am a little anxious as you can imagine.

I visited Chris (aka C.C.) up in Newcastle when I was home 2yrs ago, she is doing ok and in a solid relationship, I'm so happy for her after the horrible way her ex treated her over here. We had a blast the few days I was there, but I have to admit totally exhaustion as we did a lot of sight seeing and doing the rounds of entertainment in concerts and nightclubs but she really wanted me to see Newcastle and boy did I see it!!

A new grand-baby this year too! so I am hoping to get back with hubby in March or April of next year, we will probably be staying for the major part in London with my two sons, but of course a trip to my family home in Kent and a few days in Hastings to visit my sister Babs. Craig would like a few days over in Europe if possible so that may be a side trip to France or Holland if time allows.

    (((((hugs))))) to you all..

So good to see a post from you here Sue! I am not surprised you had a lovely visit with Chris. I am glad she is happy and settled too! Nobody deserves what she had in the past!

New grandbabies! Yay, aren't they the best. I have a new cheeky little chap I can't wait to get my mitts on. He's five months old now and growing like a weed. Probably won't get to hold him though until he is 2 and then it's debatable whether he will let me or not! Oh well, those are the breaks from living so far away!

Have another heart scan tonight. Had my CT scan last week, so hoping there are not too many more tests before they can help me fix whatever it is that is wrong!

Wow, it's been a long time since anyone posted here. I guess we are well and truly dead in the British Forum. So sad to see after all this time. And we all used to be so close. icon_sad.gif

I think you will find we are the only two in here these days. I pop in periodically to see if anyone needs any help, but that's about all the traffic we see.

What a pretty pheasant Joy. We used to get a lot of those on the Estate down South.

We are both very well. My arthritis is really giving me a difficult time this winter. Too much damp I think. I need to go someplace warm for some respite! It's gotten a lot worse in my knees, ankles, right hip, lower back, neck. MY right side is worse than my left. Of course it makes it very difficult to exercise too!

Todd is really well. I wish I was in as ood a shape as he is! How is Simon doing? You had quite a scare last year!

Thanks Karen, I will pop in there too icon_smile.gif I forget after all this time just whats still up and running.

Sorry to hear that your aches and pains are becoming a real problem, all you can do is soldier on!

yes Marie it was a hell of a scare with Simon, he is just one of the most lucky men around even the doctor told him that having seen the scan he had never seen anyone recover so well...... this is one of the reasons we are back in the UK. while we were here October before last while he was recouperating was that he realised just how much he missed being here, compared to living in West australia.

you are very cut off from the other states and we started getting bored - daughter No1 did not want to know us, and never even came to see her dad when we did get back - anyway we are back now and enjoying things too

Simon said to me he wanted to be back where he could go out and do things and not just sit about inside because it was too hot to even go out and swim - end of story!

yes its nice to see wildlife so close to home here. anyway am off to do a few bits and pieces chat again soon
