At 10 months old Mitzie still has accidents, but thankfully not very often. We used a special spray that you spray on the accident to neutralize it, so that she didn't keep going back to the same spot and doing it again. Other than that we just learned to recognize the signs that she needed to go pee. One was sniffing around quickly and excitedly. She starts doing that and she goes out. Immediately after she eats. Out. Immediately after any exercise or her walk, she's out. After play. Out. Routine is very important. I always put her out the same time as much as possible. We are able to leave her on her own now for quite long periods of time, not that we do it very often. But it is nice to know that we can on occasion leave her for longer periods of time if we need to.

Dangit, they gave me a cane. icon_sad.gif This is not my happy face.

I have been using a special spray, but she still keeps going in the same general area. I am wondering if a previous renter that had pets didn't use such a cleaner and there is some residue in the carpet she can smell somehow. I am going to try cleaning the carpets and see if that helps some.

I do have a routine and do the same as you do - which mostly works very well for her. For some reason though, she will still pee once per day (not any particular time of day either), even if she has just been out recently. I think she's doing it to tell me something, I just don't understand quite what.

She's a sweet dog though - I am happy I adopted this little ball of fur. icon_smile.gif

That's all that counts Heather, that you love her and are happy with her!!

It's so gorgeous here today! I went into town this morning with Todd and managed to do quite a bit of walking with my cane, It was great. Am home now and might go out into the garden to sit with Todd and MItzie. It would be a shame to waste all this lovely sunshine!

I'm having a really bad day so far.

I went to bed last night after being rudely woken by my daughter screaming at me. She was furious that I hadn't washed certain items of her clothing yet and was throwing a temper tantrum and scolding me as if I were the child. Since the divorce she does this sort of thing a lot despite my efforts to stop her.

So anyway, I woke up this morning still feeling stressed and have a bad headache. DD forgot to take out the trash last night and dragged it out after she heard the trucks outside - so it is still sitting there and needs to be dragged back in, still full. My lawn service did a poor job yesterday, I called to express dissatisfaction with them and they told me to just pay the bill and they'd stop coming. I wasn't calling to fire them, I just wanted them to do a better job - they were here for 15 minutes yesterday and skipped most of the back yard. So now I have to deal with that too.

I still have to file my taxes, which I need to do with an accountant this year since the divorce made things complicated. I have been dreading dealing with it and I will owe a lot of money for the first time.

My dog is also being difficult this morning - she didn't want to eat her breakfast, she keeps wanting to go out but is just eating the grass. I fear she might be sick.

Update.. and it got worse. I was researching lawncare companies in my area, filled out what I thought was a form for one local company - turns out it was a new account at some website I had no interest in joining, even though there is no fee. They won't delete my information - ugh UGH UGH. Horrible day.

I'm crawling under my covers now and pretending it is tomorrow.

Sorry to hear about your bad day Heather. Here's hoping today will be alot better.

My good friend Lura and her husband John were in a horrible car accident on Friday. Lura is the lovely lady who enabled me to fly to Idaho and see my daughter compete several years ago. They are so lucky to be alive. They were on their way to Utah to a family event (driving from California) The car in front of them hit some ice and lost control, spinning around and hitting them head on at over 80mph. The impact of that sent them onto the other side of the freeway where they got hit by a tractor trailer. John has a head injury and Lura has over 14 broken bones and is in ICU and of course in severe pain. They could have so easily been killed and I am so grateful that they weren't. Your prayers would be most appreciated.

Heather sometimes it seems like nothing good ever happens, believe me I know!! But, it will change, sending good wishes your way!

Marie so sorry to hear about your friends accident! How awful and yes, they were lucky, it could have been worse. Hopefully, they both will recover fully...

    Hugs to you and Heather..

Marie I am so sorry to hear about the accident & injuries. I hope your friend is able to recover quickly.

My day is slightly better today. I talked to an accountant for free to get some questions answered - turns out I do qualify for some tax breaks I thought I wasn't eligible for, meaning I may not owe anything after all.

    Great news Heather!

Sorry to hear that you owe Elly. My mom always ends up owing as well. You would think they would just take enough off in the first place. It's quite annoying!

Another sunny gorgeous day here today. I was able to talk to my friend again on the telephone. She sounds better and better each day that passes, although admittedly she is still in a lot of pain. It only hurts when she moves. 14 broken bones altogether I believe and her husband walked away with only a cut on the head and on his knee.

    This is their Prius:

That they are alive at all is a major miracle.

I haven't got one Panda....I've been doing other stuff... I got a two week trial of Ancestry.com, so I've spent a lot of time looking up things on there...not to much avail though I must say. Haven't been able to find anything that I didn't really already know....although I have managed to send off for a copy of my Gt Grandfather's will, but I'm not holding out too much hope that it will tell me anything new. He did leave an estate of £327, so I don't think there are going to be any surprise fortunes or anything! icon_wink.gif

I've been checking every day to see if anyone has posted Panda, but I guess with the warmer weather everyone is out and about and busy. Sorry to hear that your husband has been in the hospital. Nothing serious I hope!

Geneology is addictive Sandie! I was doing some myself this afternoon. My husband and I both do a lot of it. If you are really interested in finding out information for free, you need to contact your local LDS Family History Centre. There is one in every area, and they are free of charge and have access to all of the census information etc. They also do not pressure you to join the church by the way. It is a service to the community. What area do you live in? I will try to find out the telephone number of the local Family History Centre for you if you like. Our good friend Peter is the FH consultant in our Ward and he would know.

Hello everyone! I lost track with the old thread and just now found this one!

We are good here, just quite busy. Our work has picked up tremendously, so no time off for me. Honey went thru truck driving school, then to Chicago for a job orientation, only to be told that he needs to get his blood pressure and blood sugar down. So I cut out most all the carbs in our diet and we have been walking - it is helping. They told him he can come back in 3 months if his values are better and go right to work.

We had quite a blizzard in February, 22 inches of snow. It is spring now, tho, grass is greening up, trees are all blooming. Daffodils everywhere.

Hope everyone is doing well! grouphug.gif

Sounds like you are on the right step towards good health Raquel! I hope your DH has it all sorted soon.

I am going to the One Step program again today. I am going to go to the one hour exercise class that they have ahead of the counselling session. Not sure how much I'll be able to do but I'll give it all a good go!

Elly it was so nice to talk to you the other day. Keep your chin up! I hope your knee/leg feels better soon! ((((hugs))))

icon_biggrin.gif Hi Panda, Sandie, Raquel and Marie!!!! Not too many posting these days, it's the same in the Ontario/Canadian forum... guess everyone is fed up with the site issues.

Thanks Marie, it was great to speak with you and Todd. Good luck with your new program, hope it works for you! My leg and knee are doing much better, went to the doctor Thursday, she said it will take time.. I do see progress, so that makes me happy!! icon_biggrin.gif
