Hi Magpie.....I will try and remember to eat noodles on my birthday which is a long ways off.

The chili was a hit yesterday. I made up a huge pot, gave some to our tenant downstairs. But even still I can not believe that there is only enough left for 1 more feeding. We ended up not making a pizza yesterday. Every time I went into the kitchen to give it a stir it kept shrinking. Turns out the husband was test driving it all day.

So today I will make the pizza. We were watching that show on TV yesterday....Man vs Food....don't know how he can pig out like that. But I wanna try something that I saw and that is to put the mozzerella cheese on the bottom and then the sauce.

    Hi there,
    I just found this thread!
Hope all the BC'ers haven't gone away.
I'm on Vancouver Island and I see several buddies here.
A cool day here today, but was bright and springy yesterday.
We have a Superstore nearby, but I have to say, I didn't even know they had a natural aisle. Maybe I should go have a look! icon_lol.gif

    Hi GG!
No snow here yesterday, a bit of frost in the morning. Today it looks like rain.
I'm heading down island today to visit, and
to take in Seedy Saturday in Vic. It is huge.
    Should be fun.

Oh yay, nice to see some posts here....I was wondering where everyone went icon_smile.gif

Well you lucky Islanders and your sun! Actually, it has been the same out here in the Valley, very nice the last few days, gardening weather even.

yes, do check out your local SuperStore even just for the natural foods aisle. That's about the only reason I go there now and again. Although, having been there a few times now, I'm finding not all of their prices are better. In fact some things were less at the new Thrifty Foods that just opened out here. (lucky us hey, getting Thrifty Foods...a true Island tradition isn't it!).

    Melting here too.
We islanders don't do winter well. Lots of whining and whinging, LOL
It was only last weekend that I was out in the yard, raking and thinking I should mow the lawn. Now it is covered it that white stuff. Yuck!

My neighbour was mowing the lawn last week & I was weeding. You're right about the whinging, everyone was in the village b*tching about the weather. How'd you do at the seed swap?
We're heading down to Victoria next week, I'm going to hit a few garden shops, any hidden treasures I should check out?

I had a terrific time at the seed swaps. I went to Qualicum and Victorias. Lots of freebies, and good ideas. And I have some bulbs for Jerusalem artichokes
and some six foot dahlias. Plus some wildflower seeds, and some Garlic Jam (Wow!! icon_eek.gif ).
Salt Spring Island Cheese was there giving out lots of samples so I ended up buying some of that as well.
Can't think of anything really new in Victoria. You know that Lee Valley opened out in Colwood on Nob Hill Road. At least it was called that, but they've changed the name to something else...something dull.

Yes we do know about Lee Valley, we actually drove down for their 1 year anniversary sale, wow, it was crazy!
If you come down for the Nanaimo garden show, let me know, we could go for coffee. I haven't heard when it is yet.

    Hi there!
Haven't been here for awhile, nor anyone else from the look of it! icon_biggrin.gif
Have I missed the garden show in Nanaimo?
My euphorbia is in bloom and the plant is huge. I love it. My grand-daughter thinks it looks like something from outer space.
I had tree trimmers here last week. They knocked down a bunch of alder that were getting way too big and falling over, pruned my cherry trees (way to tall!), and trimmed a fir that had broken branches from the snow and was dropping them on my hydro lines coming into the house. I got lucky with that one, no damage.
