I have been busy making pine cone wreaths, they are so cute and are easy to make. When I get one done I will post a picture.
I am also working on a quilt, holiday one, made with pieces of holiday material. Thought it would be good for Mom.
I'm hoping that others will post here and share there items.
Thanks for posting this thread. Have a great day!

Now that sounds very, very crafty and nice for the holidays! I would love to see a pic of your finished items! icon_biggrin.gif
Have you been quilting long? Is it very challenging? I must say I adore people who are able to make thos gorgeous quilted items. Someday I would like to try myself at it, too.

    Have a great day, too!

I will post a picture when I am done. Quilting is so much fun for me to do. You could do a quilt also - it's not has hard as some people think.

Hey, when did you become forum hostess, La?

I will post in this thread either later this evening or early tomorrow morning. I have some tasks to finish up here first. Work, then play. You know the story.

Mother always made holiday themed pillow cases. Now that she is gone, I have to make my own. She always gave 2 sets, 1 was a print for a specific holiday, and the other was a solid color to coordinate. I must go to fabric store this week. Next year will buy at the after Christmas sales. I can't remember how much fabric she bought for 1 pair.

Maybe will make those bags you fill with corn or rice to heat in the microwave. Several sizes. One for the neck, and I want a big one for the bottom of the bed for cold feet. A newfangled bed warmer.

Then I'll make some herb, bread, soup, and cheese mixes, Sew bags to put the mixes in. I saw some cute ones at a craft show. Pinked the edges, and one even had a liner that was talled than the bag. Cordoroy, panne velvet, quilted cottons, printed cottons. Lots of colors. Really looked pretty.

I saw in a book a fantastic decoration for the porch using a bird bath as the base. I wont make it for another week but I will post a picture.I need to wait for the boughs to be on the street corners for sale.I havent done many crafts for years now. When I had my store it was 11 months of Christmas crafts.I will try to do something to get me back in the swing a bit. I was telling my daughter that I missed making things, she said well you have nothing special to keep you busy so start making things.

She wont be here for the holidays so nothing special will be done.

Wow, what a wonderful tradition your mother started with her pillow cases. I love the idea of making two matching ones for the recipient. I bet everyone will be so happy to receive such a personal and useful gift from you! Please do share pics of your fabrics and finished pillows, if possible. I would love to see them!

Those cherry pit bags are so handy! I really want to make some this season, too. They look easy enough for a beginner seamstress like me and are such a nice gift. I saw this tutorial at martha stewart earlier this month: http://www.marthastewart.com/article/homemade-heating-pad

Now, your idea for packing home-made mixes into home-made crafty little bags is just too cute! icon_smile.gif Love the idea and if I had a sewing machine at my place, Id start sewing bags now. icon_smile.gif Thanks so much for sharing that here with us, herb princess!
