I need ideas!! My SIL and I are planning an open house for my parents. Not even sure where to start as far as what to serve, how much etc. Not sure how much food to provide since it's an open house! We could have 25 or 75!! It's from 3-6pm, so we could do BBQ, potato salad, etc, but not sure if we want to do that much! Also considered finger foods, punch and a cake.

Any suggestions, ideas, etc are welcome!!

Since it's an open house and people can come and go, I would go more with finger foods. It's easier icon_smile.gif

I would look for things that can be made ahead in a large quantity ~ you don't want to spend tons of time in the kitchen while the guests are there.

If it were me, I would order and buy a bakery cake ~ it's easier.

    Finger food cookbooks ~ http://www.food.com/cookbook-finder/all/finger-foods

Champagne punch would be appropriate ~ Champagne Punch and make sure to have non-alcoholic beverages as well

    Congrats to your parents!

Thanks! That's probably a good idea. Having food catered would be a pain; determining type and amount!! My neighbor bakes great cakes, so that won't be a problem!

Thanks for the links!! I will definitely check them out!!
