I am looking for a fish stick recipe - specifically one where I can make ahead large quantities and store in the freezer. I don't care if they are frozen cooked or uncooked, but I do want them to be otherwise finished with the breading/coating on them. I have done this with chicken nuggets and we love them!
Can someone point me to a good recipe? My children love fish sticks but I hate the ones in stores mostly because of the MSG and ridiculous cost. Both of my children are homeschooled and have special needs that require us to be out of the home lots for therapies and such. I just don't have enough time to make them fresh each time we want them. However, if I could make a bunch and freeze ahead while dh is home that would make them as convenient as the store bought ones.
Thanks!

I don't know that I have ever seen an OAMC recipe for fish sticks. This may be one that you have to experiment with. Perhaps look at a recipe for chicken nuggets and see how you can adapt it to work for fish.
I have made chicken strips before, but because we don't eat fish sticks the thought of doing this has never crossed my mind.

Thanks so much! I have a chicken nuggest recipe I make in advance and freeze. The kids very much like it. When I was looking for the chicken recipe there were some that said fully cook then freeze and others that said freeze then cook. I will experiment when I purchase fresh fish again.

I don't have a fish stick recipe but I used to make a Weight Watcher's recipe for fish that my kids loved and the only other fish they liked was fish sticks. You melt butter in a glass dish, dredge fish in the butter and sprinkle seasoned bread crumbs on both sides and bake in 350 degree oven until done. Very simple, amounts would depend on how much fish you were using, you just need enough butter to coat each side, and baking time depends on the thickness of the fish. Give it a try, maybe your kids will love it as much as mine did.

Diane's Parmesan Chicken. When the kids were young, I'd make their meals as chicken nuggets and make whole breasts for DH and I. Easy way to keep everyone happy.
