Hi Everyone ... well everyone who is left popping in. Joy, hope your back is OK. I am so fortunate, so far, not to have too many aches and pains. Sure they will catch up with me one day soon Just got back from a 4 day break in California staying with a friend. She lives up near Sacramento and I got to discover the surrounding areas that I never saw in the 10 years I lived in CA. It's so beautiful I have now thrown that in the mix of retirement possibilities! Really as if I need another place to add. Didn't mention this to DH as he already hasn't a clue where he is going to end up Bye for now. Bitsie

I saw that on FB. Sounds like a luvverly day! Today we are going to take the second wine out of the two small kegs, put some into the big barrel with the first wine to top it up, and put the rest into large glass bottles with airlocks. Then we have to pick the rest of the long peppers and figure out what to do with them....I've already frozen all we need for the winter so I may just email friends and see if any of them want to come get some.

When Nancy's page comes up there's a rectangle next to her name that says "Add Friend" and you'd click on that. I take it you couldn't find me?

Funny but there isn't a rectangle next to her name. I just went back and checked again. I'll ask one of the girls at work in the morning. Maybe I'm searching the wrong way because when I put in your name I get all the web sites you are linked to - galleries and things. Told you I was FB challenged

Oh I did find Karen but she didn't respond to my request.
I made Karen's boozy mincemeat and in the directions it said to make sure all the air bubbles are gone. That was an impossible mission. Do you think it is OK with some tiny ones or should I refrigerate it? I just made half a batch.

If you found Karen and were able to request friending, are you saying that there was nothing like that on Nancy's? And I take it that you haven't found mine?
Could you give me more information about how to find YOU on FB?
I have never made mincemeat so I'm not sure, but if you can't get rid of the bubbles I'd just leave them. It's not like pastry.
I would like to find someone who's made confit de gésiers, but it seems to be a lost art. I'm not sure I did it right, although they were good.... I have a question posted here but the walls are just echoing.

No there wasn't anything next to Nancy's name that I could click on. I tried a person at work and she had the box on the right to add as a friend. Nope didn't find you either. This will make you laugh ... I have another FB account in my ex-married name so I logged in there and searched for me and couldn't even find me! I'll get with the girls at work tomorrow.
confit de gésiers is very brave. I've just got DH to have a little lamb now and again. He's not a meat eater. However he said he likes chicken liver pate so maybe I'll do that over the holidays.
I'll be back.

Thanks for looking for me, anyway. And at least I'm not the only one who can't find YOU! If I knew when you were looking for me I'd take my account off private long enough for you to connect.
Nancy said she had heard from you and was hoping the two of you could get together on FB.
I was pretty proud of my confit de gésiers, but I wasn't sure whether they were as tender as they should have been. I used chicken fat for the confit, since I save that and had plenty. I would love to have enough duck fat for confit de canard, since I have several legs I've been keeping just for that purpose, but I just can't accumulate the amount I need!

Geeeeezzz ... an OCTOBER post!! And to think, this was my favourite chat place.

What's happening with all of you???
I HATE it when friends drop out of my life!

I know, I loved this place too, but with Karen and Linds gone and no one else keeping the ball in the air, it just died. I think there were lots of problems with the new format, too. FB just isn't the same as ye olde Zaar was, though!

What a shocker to get an email saying a post was up. I too miss this format for chat. I still can't quite get my head around FB.
Happy holiday to all those who pop by.

Hi, Bitsie! Have you gotten all of your Christmas shopping done? We put our tree up on Friday and have been enjoying it. I cook both Christmas Eve (a modified Italian Seven Fishes but we just do three) and then ravioli for dinner on Christmas Day. What do you do, and Zuri, what do you do?
