Sort By Rating

Is sort by rating not an option anymore? It's one of the reasons I've always loved and recommended Recipezaar.Com. Am I missing something? Is it coming back?
Also I've been searching today. It says something like "to see all 145 duplicate recipes." Am I doing something so I'm only seeing duplicate recipes. What about the non-duplicate recipes. I'm confused!

I don't see anything about duplicate recipes, but if you want to sort by the rating change it from "relevancy" to "most popular."

That doesn't work either. I first searched for carrot soup then thinking I would be sorting the most popular carrot soup, selected sort by most popular and it came up with the most popular "soup" recipes, not carrot soup recipes. The site has too much hitting you from every angle ans nothing gets you where you want to go.

We are working on the popular sort, to make it more relevant to what you're after.

What there an overwhelming member outcry to change the sort by Rating to Most Popular? Why was it changed at all? We all knew haw to do it that way.
So, my key question is this: IF, I sort by Most Popular, it means EXACTLY the same thing as sort by Rating did before? Exactly? No extra "fuzzy criteria" stuff that gets thrown into the results? Just a sort by the stars, right? If not, then it is not the same, and needs a SEPARATE/ ADDITIONAL category for sorting, and the pure sort by Rating needs to be restored. I am still not sure why it was every changed at all. Was this a User request, or just an assumption made by the designers of the new system? . Thanks

I know that you made these changes to "recipezaar" to make it better for us and I do appreciate that but, I do need to agree that "rating" was great!

I know some of the features have yet to work properly, but I have a different take on "Rating" vs. "Popularity."
I think the original Sort by Rating was, in fact, always a popularity sort. For instance, a recipe with 9 reviews averaging 4 stars would trump a recipe with 8 5-star reviews.
Actually, I think that is the only way a computer could technically generate this sorted list we used. Otherwise, a person would have to judge the value of different ratings, as well as the value of the number of reviews, and feed them into the computer, and, well, that is just not what was happening with the old 'Zaar. So, I do think Popularity is simply a more accurate name for the same results*.
*In theory, meaning when it is all working properly.

My problem with the sort by rating versus sort by popularity is really quite simple.
I don't care how you call it as long as it works. Right now it doesn't.
I searched for stuffed peppers, I got the results sorted by Relevancy and then I've changed the sorting to show the most <Popular> recipes. Wow - stuffed chicken breast, stuffed pasta shells, stuffed anything but peppers.
So yes, I want it back. I want to have only the stuffed peppers recipes sorted by rating or by popularity whatever.
When I'll look for stuffed pasta shells, I'll search for it to be sure.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that misses the "sort be rating". When you search by popularity you don't end up with high rated recipes or recipes you were looking for...
