Yields 32 pints to be frozen
Use the freshest seasonal peppers and heat of peppers to your taste but this should make you sweat a bit.
6lbs hamburger
2 1/2 lbs spicy or hot pepperoni (ground)
2 C. oil (optional depending on fat content of above meat)
2 tbsp salt
Combine above ingredients and brown
2 1/2 lbs onions coarsely ground
3 lg cans tomato sauce
1 ice cream pail of diced GREEN tomatoes
1 lg can of tomatoes or 6 lg fresh red tomatoes (ground)
4 green bell peppers (ground)
2 sweet red peppers (ground)
2 stalks diced celery
1 bunch of coarsely chopped endive, parsley or even cilantro
3 red hot chili peppers ( Serrano, jalapeño, etc.depending on how how you like it)
Combine with browned meats and cook down until the consistency of thicker sloppy joes. Cool and put in freezer bags. Serve on open faced French bread or regular bread. Will be hotter after freezing. Tastes best in the middle of a blizzard.
