My kids will eat just about anything as long as it doesn't have big chunks of tomatoes or onion. So someone gave us about 6 bounds of ground beef today, and I am looking for ways to use it that are not standard fare for kids.

No, no Sloppy Joes, burgers, meatballs.... icon_smile.gif

Looking for something totally different... Any ideas?

    Hey Papa Deuce!

I'm so sorry that your post seems to have been overlooked icon_redface.gif

I suppose you've already worked out what to do with all your beef by now, but if you have a lot to work with again perhaps you might be interested in something like:

cottage pie (numerous recipes on Zaar)

    Keema

Busy Mum's Beef and Vegetable Keema

Stuffed Naan Bread With Minced Meat (Keema Naan)

My Kids Favourite Pasta Meal. - this states chicken but I also use ground beef and occasionally lean lamb.

Meatballs With Chick Peas & Preserved Lemon -- Morocco - you said not meatballs, but these are no ordinary meatballs, use beef icon_wink.gif

Kusa Mihshi - Stuffed Lebanese Squash / Cucuzza / Koosa - if your kids like zucchini then they may like this, replace lamb with beef

    Ground Beef Gyros

    Ground Beef Vegetable Soup

    Mititei (Small Ground Beef Sausages)

Most of the above recipes are a little different to what you may be used to. None should be scary or offputting to kids!

    Thanks, Um Safia.

Yes, I did do something already. I made Shepherd's Pie with the vegetables that they enjoy... plus we made some Sloppy Joe.

But I still am glad you replied because some of your links look interesting!

I have a different name for this... can't remember right now what it is, but we LOVE it!
