Legs, you know you are an Honoured Member, double crown, of this forum!!
Thanks, Molly, for shifting the list from New Members to here!!
I'm still hunting; have resorted at last to copy-and-paste.
Unfortunately many of those members a) menton Africa on their AM pages but have no further connection or b) joined 8, 9 years ago to post 1 review, and never came back.
Nevertheless, I am sending them z-mails.
One came back (and as I've said before) had no idea that there are "forums" on Zaar ...

Yikes, no. Two or 3. They promise to come to the Chat ... and so far, no new "faces" seen there!!
I think we must accept that many people come to Zaar, are very nice and want to post a review, so join hastily ... and then either do not come back, or maybe come back to look for recipes. Don't know, can't guess.
I must admit, that's what I did a couple of times. Signed in, could not find my way around, left, forgot about Zaar, then slunk back eventually like the Lost Son!!

Hi -
Add me to North Africa from 1956 - 1960. L'hotel des Princes in Kenitra, Morocco. Would like to meet former residents of the hotel and students at Thomas MacWhilhoite.
Thanks.

Gee, Secret Agent, that's fascinating.
But you know what ... ?
You'd do better with the North Africa and Middle East Cooking Forum, especially hunting up old contacts.
(As usual I popped in here, and I don't have their link at hand, but surely you know your way around Zaar!!)
Yes, North Africa is very much Africa, but for practical reasons the two forums were formed some years ago.
The cookery of North Africa (Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Libya and Egypt) are more closely related to that of the Middle East than to Africa south of the Sahara.
Also, the continent is so HUGE -- just ask Peggy, who's telling about trip in this forum -- that we could not cope with the widely divergent cooking questions.
BUT you are so welcome in THIS forum as well, because of your ties with Africa!

Kind Molly's list:
I only got about halfway. Some, according to their AM pages, only mention Africa in passing and are not obvious candidates.
Some have left Zaar (it seems) years ago. I try to check their recipes (if any) and their reviews (if any) to see whether they have been on Zaar in the last 2 years or so. Some haven't been here for 5 years, so with my time constraints I'm leaving them out.
Here at home, real life interfered in a few urgent and serious ways with my Zaar time, and I haven't resumed the searching and z-mails yet. Will do so when I have time.

Hi Zurie and JoyfulCook
I've lived many years in East Africa but most of the time in South Africa. I still miss many aspects of it South Africa especially is so diverse - depending on which part you are in, it can seem as if you are in Africa, Asia, Europe all at once.
How surprising (and nice!) to see so many people here with African connections.
