Oh dear - does pan laxante mean what I think it does?

Good list... I'll have to crank up the metric converter and give some of those a shot...

Wow! Thank you Molly for posting this! I go into a Mexican bakery here in my town called El Bollio. It is the best Mexican bakery in town (IMO). But, nothing is ever labled with the names. It's nice to see the names with the picture. My DS's favorite is the "Matecado". We've been calling it "the think that looks like a slice of bread with the icing on top". icon_redface.gif icon_lol.gif Thanks again! icon_biggrin.gif

I just thought that questions about Mexican/Spanish pastries come up so frequently that it would be nice to have some sort of reference thread.

Molly, I think this is very cool, I love breads in all shapes and forms icon_smile.gif
Maybe you could label the top part as European/Central/South American depending on the case?

I edited my post because my computer didn't load the last pictures and I saw them after posting the first time icon_redface.gif

Those are very cool breads. I clicked on some links and found recipes, but even after translating (by computer), I still can't identify all the ingredients and amounts.

    But those are cool!
