Osso buco/bucco

Hi

A search for "osso bucco" on this site finds 31 recipes, while one for "osso buco" returns 35 different ones. It seems like the spelling could be conformed ( even manually, 66 recipes is not a lot) or the search parameters could be revised so a search for one spelling returns results for alternate spellings, like google does, for instance. Thanks for taking this into consideration.

The titles of the recipes are entered by the individual members. I don't think you want the site to change the title of your recipes.

Technically, the correct spelling is neither of those. It's Ossobuco, and only five recipes come up with that spelling. http://www.food.com/recipe-finder/all/ossobuco
There are lots of variations on the theme out there.

I agree that the site shouldn't be changing recipe posters' chosen titles if they are about describing or personalizing the recipe. "Simple" "Aunt Rose's" "Unbelievable" make the recipes personal and tempting . I wouldn't suggest messing with "pie" versus "tart" or "pizza" versus "flatbread" either because those are judgment calls. But if the question is about correcting errors or conforming spelling then, yes, I would be perfectly happy if the editors changed the title or even content of a recipe I posted. What's the use of posting a mustard glazed slalom recipe? To me, posting recipes is about sharing them, and they can't be shared if they can't be found. Also, if the site suggested alternative spellings at the point of search for the fairly narrow group of recipes that have more than one accepted spelling, then no one's chosen title would have to altered and the site would become one step more user friendly.
