I'm thinking of getting a complete set for my GD who's entering college life soon. I'd hate to dish out $80 for something that doesn't work.

Opinions please from those I trust - that's you guys. Thanks, I appreciate any and all comments.

I'd never heard of this product before, but I just watched the infommercial online & read some reviews for it.
Most said the product was pretty good, except that the non-stick surface is (in one complaint) just black paint, not teflon, and another reviewer says the non-stick is wearing off after 30 days.

I think the biggest thing I would be worried about is in the link below & is something that has happened to me personally with a different product years ago. The company seems to have a habit of adding extra charges, not shipping on time, signing you up for subscriptions & other things that you expressly declined either verbally or by checking the "no thank you" box. And cancelling the subscriptions was (in my case) several months worth of phone calls & emails.

Several reviewers suggested waiting for the product to arrive in stores & that's what I've done ever since I got scammed with the SpaceBags. I pay a lot less at Walgreen's Drugstore or about the same (without shipping charges) at the As Seen On TV Store in the mall. And I can return the items if I'm not happy with them.
Although I'd be interested in this item for when DS is back in school & it's just lunch for my toddler & I, I would be leary of purchasing it off the tele.

Do you have stores that carry the As Seen on Tv stuff in your area, Julie?
I don't know how long it usually takes the stores to get the products but maybe this one will be available before she goes off to school? At least then it can be tested & returned if needed.
I'm personally going to go for the George Foreman grill the next time I'm shopping for appliances. I had held out for a long time & have wasted money on a plain panini maker that I've not been happy with.
From everything I've read & the conversations I've had here in this forum the GF really is worth the money. Easy to clean (a big issue for me since the panini maker).

Target and Bed, Bath and Beyond have started carrying a lot of "as seen on TV" stuff. Usually on an end at Target. In the middle of an aisle at BB&B.

I hadn't even thought of Target. BB&B is a place I should have remembered seeing some stuff though but forgot. Haven't been there in a long time.

Target in our area and several others but I haven't seen them yet. Will be doing some scouting this weekend so hopefully. She said she settle for a toaster over so we'll see what comes of it. Thanks again.

I bought it but to be honest haven't used it that much. It looked so much fun on tv but then again I am a deep rut lately with cooking lol

We have had the redi express for a few years. My sister bought it and it sat in the closet since. watched the infomercial and bought it online. I refused all the extras immediately and have had no issues . We have since started using it and love it!! We pulled out the older one which has 4 half size trays so we can cook more at the same time and all eat together. I wold highly recommend it for dorm life. With a small fridge she can eat most meals in her room without messy pans to clean. I spray pam on it before I use it and haven't had an issue.
I haven't seen it in the stores around me and I am always looking at those aisles.

George Foreman is great but even with the removable plates it is still messy to clean. The grease gets up in the back. Cooks great for many things even Pannini. I used it to cook burgers when I serve Bingo for our school. The smell is a big attraction and even with cleaning is easier than the big grill we used to use.

I'm hoping to cook everything in these things and not use my cooktop which is a bear to keep clean! LOL
